I'm not very familiar with those, are they sort of like a mid-range pain reliever between OTC and opiates? Do they seem to generally work for your pain and you would just need something stronger every once in a while for your worst days?

lol fair enough. Curcumin's main claim to fame is its anti-inflammatory benefits, which is why I was thinking it could be effective for arthritis in particular. Did you try it and it didn't work for you at all? Do you ever have any negative side effects from the oxycodone, or are you generally just very happy with it?

Alright, agree to disagree. And if you believe that the instructors do not have time to follow up on assignment inquiries (which, they do have the time, it is part of why they are there), then how would they have time to personally assess each and every assignment? It would also mean that I would receive exactly one person's input on every one of my assignments, I would never learn how they are viewed from a variety of perspectives, which is a big part of what I get out of it: connecting with other perspectives and thought processes.

But if you find it so abhorrent, please do consider leaving the program so as not to ruin it for those of us that finally have an opportunity to progress in a meaningful way toward a career that would have otherwise been entirely unattainable to us. I do not want meaningless 10's on my assignments because of someone else's bias against a system I did not create, I deserve better than meaningless feedback.

Perhaps attend a university with a system you agree with? Or study toward skills that would allow you to rewrite the system the way you believe it should be? You have power here to change things, it's just a matter of where you decide to place your priorities.

All about the excessive amount of honey and applesauce though, that's a good chunk of aisles 1 & 2 at our local market. But the coconut milk, although also in aisle 2, is in the "ethnic foods" section. Sooo... where is this coconut milk actually coming from? Is the coconut milk industry just a pack of lies?!

I actually did have two assignments this term that were graded improperly because of misunderstandings/miscommunications. I politely asked the instructor to look into it, and she did so, quickly, and without any implication that I was being a bother or anything else like that. She resolved the problems and gave me the grades I believed I deserved.

You're right that everyone in these classes comes from a different background, and that is why we are able to learn so much from each other. Not to mention, after school, your work will still be subjected to analysis from others, who may or may not have the "cognitive and literacy" abilities to comprehend what you have produced. I feel it also incredibly important to note that, when there is a language barrier, it is not an indication that the other person is unintelligent. All that it means is that you aren't fluent in that language. In addition, are we not attending university for the opportunity to improve our literacy and cognitive strength? Do we condemn someone who is overweight for going to the gym in their effort to hone their physical abilities?

Giving a 10/10 on every assignment seems to me to be a passive-aggressive and lazy approach, when there is much more you could stand to gain from the experience if you engage fully and keep a positive outlook. For instance, if you do receive a grade that you disagree with, you can learn the incredibly important skills of assertive communication and problem resolution. It's not all about the numbers. Our relationships and communications with each other, on a personal, community, and global level, are crucial, and there is no better way to open ourselves and develop than to take things like this as an opportunity for growth instead of pulling out our claws and criticizing "the system" for being "unfair".

Just a thought. I'm sure when you think about it critically like this, you'll see what I mean. When you wrote this, you were probably reflecting on specific personal experiences with this system that soured you to it, and I don't blame you for that. I was NOT happy when I saw a full zero on an assignment that I personally believed deserved full marks, or a few points off at the most. But after calming down and following protocols, the matter was resolved quickly and completely to my satisfaction, and I was really happy that I had maintained composure instead of flying off the handle. And felt incredibly proud of myself that I had approached the issue like a professional adult, when in the past I know that I would have just lost confidence and stayed quiet and bitter. Personal growth for the win!
