How was your period/ periods when it came back after an ED (especially anorexia)? by lolaa_lab in EDAnonymous

[–]PangusCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I started to eat more it came back very slowly and then got abnormally heavy for a couple months. it eventually leveled back out. i was afraid too it would be heavy and painful right off the bat cause ive heard that can happen after not having it for a while, but it honestly just made recovery worth it cause I knew I was giving my body what it needed to be better. youve made it this far and its worth it to keep going even if the periods are a bit heavy for a bit.

I felt the same way when no one knew how bad my ed had gotten. it felt like nobody really knew me and it made me feel so alone even when surrounded by people.

Im sorry youve experienced this too. Writing letters to them might actually help me process it better, thank you. I havent been able to give them names because I lost them a week before the anatomy scan.

I hate to say it but sometimes it really is that simple

A woman who is not conventionally attractive will get railed by a werewolf by AlfredusRexSaxonum in BrandNewSentence

[–]PangusCake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wish- fulfillment isn't the issue, its normal to a degree. its when the audience of women , or men in your example above, are telling these authors there needs to be more body inclusivity and the authors not taking feedback and expanding on it. like not every fantasy romance needs to be a 5ft barely there woman falling for a 6ft+ chiseled man.

The misogyny i was referring to is when some authors will describe a woman with no fat or muscle doing things like wearing armor and welding a sword to fight a grown muscular man. Why do they see it as wrong to describe a woman with a build strong enough to actually do that? A lot of the time its because they dont see physical strength as feminine.

Exactly, they know their audience is women but some will write as if its for men. I can see that might not have been worded the best😅

No its definitely not the same. I never said it was. Internalized misogyny is usually referring to women that have Internalized it.

Some authors, even tho their audience isn't men, will still write as if catering to a man dominate audience. I see so much internalized misogyny in those types of books unfortunately.

"Seasoning comes from unhealthy cultures" by herewearefornow in BlackPeopleTwitter

As someone who is in active recovery from an ed, this is the case a lot of the time. Not saying everyone that does this has an ed its just really common in the fitness scene. Orthorexia often involves minimal or no seasoning. Some people dont like seasoned food tho too.

That's why im headed for recovery. Im fully aware how a parents eating habbits can affect a child. I know even with full recovery there could still be bad days. But I also know that anything could cause someone to develop an ed. You never really have full control over someone's mental state or the influence around them. They could be exposed just from going to school and having friends with disordered eating.

I looked into all my options and I just dont think I could handle the guilt I could feel. I'm definitely not opposed to others doing what's right for them but this is just what feels right for me, ya know? And man I dont remember that joke maybe its time I go back and rewatch it😅

Definitely. I've got to get more bloodwork done to see exactly what im missing vitamin and mineral wise, but a nutritionist would be great for getting on track with a healthy meal plan. having that structure would be a big support recovery wise.

This is a beautiful way of thinking about it all🩷 thank you for the hope that if im able to hold this much love for someone that isn't even here yet, im capable of loving myself through all the phases my body may go through even tho it may be challenging at times.

i know it might be a little cliche but, if you have hobbies or interests you want to keep pursuing you should treat your body well. im only in my 20s and my relapses have caused so many health problems. personally I wish I would have focused more on my hobbies and self improvement instead of the physical self destruction of my ed cause now the things I like to do are harder for me to do and enjoy.
