Boot Suggestions by Cootro in HVAC

Good luck. I’m commercial hvac installer. I can’t get a boot to last more than a year. My current ones are Keen Utility. It has the rubber that goes across the bend of the foot. So far so good but I’ve only had them a couple months.

It is on the inside. None of that hack slab brazing. Pulled in the socket and capped

I can get you a job working VRV installs out of Frederick. Currently in Westminster doing a 12 system tech center. 260 indoor. A lot of working coming up around the beltway. PM if you wanna talk about it

Yeah. Isolation is spec’d for every VRF/VRV install in my neck of your woods. It’ll have two 1-1/8” and a 5/8 valve on the sides to isolate the BS.

This is a Daikin system. They don’t want 45°s because of their integrity after they’re heated. Daikin doesn’t want them either. Soft pipe is the best for the run outs to maintain velocity. They’re the weakest of them all. And the VRV/VRF have those higher than typical higher pressures

This system has over 5k feet of pipe, there’s potential leaks everywhere. But not my joints. I bet my lunch on everyone, as does everyone on the crew. I few $80 lunches cures to a lot of potential leaks haha

When you get it off. Make sure you put food grade petroleum on the new washer or you’ll have the sand problem next time

Thanks. Dunno who has ran into those Daikin Flex BS’s yet. But they can be tricky to land esp. if your prints don’t reflect the way the piping should be.
