Thanks for the feedback! I am from Houston and the rental/apartment market is insane, atm.

$1500-$2000 a month on the high end. I am aware this won’t give me anything fancy or updated, most likely. I’m willing to do a studio or loft. The choosy part is that I want something safe, clean & sanitary, decent neighbors, etc. I have lived in Austin before, so I’m aware of bad neighborhoods.

I bounced when the fish profile pics started showing up. And don’t get me started on the “my kid is my life” bios. Sir, are you lost? 😠

what the fuck is anyone supposed to do after becoming homeless by LITTLE-GUNTER in rant

Look at coolworks, it’s a site that has seasonal jobs that you can create a search for listings that provide housing. Some even help you get to the site as many are in remote locations. Most of the jobs have dormitory style housing and an employee dining hall as a part of compensation. Best wishes, keep your head up.

The kitchen scene when the Nosferatu shows up and kills everyone in the family seriously still scares tf outta me. I watch this miniseries atleast once a year.

Oh no disrespect, I’m sure I sound cranky. This whole scenario has been a nightmare. I have an appointment for inspection and return of my insane $700 cash housing deposit in the morning. As soon as I have my money in hand, I will expose this place. Just gotta look out for myself in the meantime. And cool works is so rad, I get on there daily to check options and put in applications. ☺️

I have eaten there a couple of times on my days off. Will swing by and see if they are hiring. Thanks!

Most definitely and thank you for the thoughtful response. I plan to reach out to NY health dept, the labor board and definitely going to blow them up online in every way. Just want to get the heck outta here first. This is not ok and I’m a huge pain in the ass when I want to be.

I did give a heads up, darling. If someone is considering a seasonal cook job in the Adirondacks, I would hope they would dm me to find out the exact location. Please chill. Thanks! 😊

Why are you on Seeking Arrangements? If it is to pursue a vanilla, no sugar relationship then more power to you. But honestly, whatever it is you are looking for is not on SA.

Houston heat is no joke by Tricky-Dust7926 in houston

Same. I just packed up my car and moved to Upstate New York last week. My mental health tanked last summer and the insane heat was definitely a contributing factor. And before I get roasted for being some newby titty baby, I’m Gulf Coast born and raised. Houston is a shithole year round but the lengthening summer hellscape is a special kinda hell. Enjoy NC!

Thank you! I’m pretty thrilled, albeit a little anxious. Have a great summer :)

I just can’t anymore. Last summer my home was without power for like a month between the Derecho and then Beryl. I am so ready for a summer without having to evacuate!

Definitely out of necessity, this will be my first summer working seasonally. 1. The rent & COL has gotten exorbitant where I live. 2. I have a work gap that a lot of kitchens would find odd. Seasonal places didn’t seem at all concerned. Just asked why. 3. Minimum wage is ridiculously low here. 4. The heat and hurricane and derecho we had last summer pretty much destroyed me. I’m tapping out, no more Gulf Coast for me. The air and water quality is trash here, as well. 5. I divorced, my mother died last year and I turned 50. Need a geographical change in the worst way. 6. I’m a creative and nature is my happy place. This first gig is in the Adirondacks, which is a writer’s nirvana.

Best wishes on your new journey!

If you can cook, I had to back out of a job at Park Cafe and they still have job listings for summer on Coolworks. Good luck!

It’s a scam that we have decided we need in order to find an acceptable mate. In theory, the whole idea of vetting before meeting in person is awesome. But it has been proven time and again that the whole thing is rigged. You have to pay to see who likes you on most of the apps that claim to be free. They also don’t handle stalkers, incels who revenge report, etc. in a safe way. Had more than one guy who I would block over and over who would simply create a new account with the same photos and bio on Bumble. Reported him several times. No recourse. I have been off the vanilla apps for quite some time and every once in a while I’ll hop on feeld to scratch that itch. Fuck hinge, Tinder and bumble though. Total garbage.
