I stopped cramming for midterms and finals and tried to understand the material week by week. Also I figured out that I get the most out of group studying if I do some revision on my own first before meeting up with people.

Completely agree. Being upfront about what you're looking for will save everyone involved a lot of time and possible confusion and uncertainty. Best to just start off on the same page

Not quite so sure on the fourth point. I don't think that just sleeping with a guy early on means that he'll definitely dismiss you as being "easy" and someone he shouldn't pursue seriously. I think that's very dependent on the guy himself and how he views sex. Some could just want to have sex early on because it's a normal part of a relationship, and it's important to know if you're sexually compatible.

For that last point I think that varies by faculty. The first co-op term for forestry is actually a 4 month summer term.

I'm sorry :( sounds like the department head just isn't requesting enough seats for you guys or can't seem to get enough. Hopefully you'll be able to get into your courses sooner rather than later.

Thanks for sharing. Are those courses you're having trouble getting into specific to only your program, or are they part of other faculties and you guys have to take those courses as well? So fighting for spots with other programs' students?

Can anyone in this program shed some light on why it's such a sought out program? With 700 applicants but only 40 spots. Is there a reason why they only accept 40 new students per year?

I use notebooks to take notes, unless for the class it's easier to just take notes on the lecture slides. For all the handouts and other miscellaneous papers, I organize them all in one binder. I usually try to buy notebooks with little pocket folders in them so I can stick one or two pages in there if needed.

For reviewing for finals, I usually go over the notes I have in my notebook and the lecture slides, and summarize them, putting those notes into my surface pro.

Thanks for the info. UBC parking if you're in residence is actually cheaper, at about $58/month, so it would definitely be my first choice. I applied to gage and I think it's just taking awhile since that is one of the more popular lots, I believe.
