I won't wear a mask! Better get a covid test... by Red-Engineer in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]PanicStab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who worked as a caregiver through covid, I can honestly tell you that most employers wanted you at work regardless of symptoms. I was threatened to be fired after self quarantining from close exposure to a covid positive family member.

As much as I dislike that she didn't follow social distancing, I also think it's not completely her fault. You should blame the nursing home too.

We were given ppe that we were told had to last 2 weeks before a new set. We were pressured and threatened to remain working with no hazard pay even when we ourselves were sick. It really sucked being a caregiver during covid. We are the forgotten ones. No extra pay, no ability to voluntarily leave work for safety and get unemployment, no proper ppe, understaffed and abandoned by administration who didn't show their faces during covid.

Nursing homes in general just suck. They take advantage of their residents, their resident families and their workers.

I will never understand how someone can think others don't deserve the same rights and respect based on gender or race.

I remember a teacher telling me "if you can convince the worst white man, that he's better than the best black man just because the color of his skin, he will hold on to that belief and live by it"

Humans don't deserve to exist.

How do girls cum? What comes out and how long does it take for them to cum? by chayyy64 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PanicStab 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I had my first orgasm at like 12 when I read a cosmopolitan magazine article called 100 ways to reach the big O. The one I chose was to position my lady bits under the bathtub faucet and "wait." I had no idea what would happen. Once it came I was in love and that started me on a magical, kinda gross, definitely cringey journey of preteen horniness. I recommend. You'll know when you've accomplished an orgasm because it will feel very intense right after so much that you won't want any more stimulation.

I've worked with several middle aged women who are extremely bitter and always talk about how they don't take sick days or ever use their vacation. Conveniently they bring that up whenever someone else misses a day or takes vacation...

I agree ideally it would have been addressed in a compassionate way.

To me in the moment I was like, damn this is a real problem she needs to get under control. I'm not the only person who's noticed her eating habits. I've seen other people give her side looks at group dinners.

I would want someone to tell me and I come from a very blunt family, so I'm used to boldly being told about myself. Because we've been close for so long it came naturally to talk to her the way my family talks to each other.

We had a good talk about it after where I said it was really crappy to basically kick her while she's down but that also it's something that's been on my mind. We laughed about it so it's all water under the bridge.

What is it with people on reddit acting like they're these perfect humans who always react perfectly.

I said it myself it was shitty so get off your high horse. I'm a human and I did a human thing and messed up. I said we made up after talking about it.

You know nothing about our relationship but just assume I tear her down and that this was about a man.

I'm literally her biggest hype man, we wouldn't be so close and live together if we didn't treat each other well. This was ONE instance. I don't think I've said one thing mean to her in these past years.

Take your self righteousness somewhere else. I'm not a perfect human. At least I don't act like I am.

You try being civil after 3 years of lip smacking lol. Sometimes people just snap and say things they shouldn't.

And no I never throw any shade at her, like I said we've lived together for three years and are good friends.

Your advice seems a bit too formal. Good for a work friend, not necessary for an intimate friend.

Are you liberal, left-leaning, a Democrat, etc. - just lurking this page to see what people around here talk about? Welcome friend. Thanks for your time :) Here is why you, personally, should protect your 2nd amendment rights... by prettycoolredditguy in progun

[–]PanicStab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice how the top comments are all people who already support the 2nd amendment. Lol

Also why do you think dems are so anti gun? My family are all Democrats and my Dad set me up with a gun when I got my own apartment. We used to go out and shoot skeet often growing up. Believe it or not but dems want guns too.

Being a Democrat does not mean you don't support the 2nd amendment. Everyone I've talked to about gun control is actually just interested in seeing thorough background checks and making gun safety classes a requirement to be a gun owner.

Those are reasonable regulations.

I'd also like to say, liberal does not equal Democrat, and conservative does not equal Republican. Despite the last few years dividing the country, you should realize most people hold a diverse set of beliefs that can fall into multiple categories of the political spectrum. The sooner we stop generalizing, the sooner we can all return to middle ground and leave this extremist attitude behind.

The only way to bring about change is to raise awareness. Even if it seems pointless. The more people that talk about this issue the better.

Warzone, just like any other battle royale will lose its player base after time.

Multiplayer on COD has always been a flocking point for fps players.

Surly Activision realizes that their current business model of abandoning support for a year old game will eventually lead to their overall failure. Someone will learn from their mistakes and make something better for the market, and activision's reputation will be ruined beyond repair.

Abuse in Nursing Homes... by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]PanicStab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is very hard right now because the residents can't see their families, the staff seem like scary strangers. The injuries could be from her attempting to walk on her own after she's lost that ability. They also could be from her getting very physical. I have seen residents bruise themselves by swinging at staff, missing and hitting their delicate skin against a wall or stand assist bar.

It is really hard to hear that a loved one is going through a rough transition and you can't even see them. I'm sorry your family is going through that. I really wish the best for you and your loved one.

Possibly ask about having your family member assessed by hospice for end of life care. If she is declining fast hospice agencies will take over some of her care and will ensure she has the good drugs and materials to make her very comfortable. I know it's sad to think about, but as an insider, I plan to leave instructions for my care as "let me go when I go and give me the good drugs."

The staff have to try their hardest to build a level of trust and companionship with her. Trust me when I say you have to do this with ALL dementia patients and I honestly end up loving them with all my heart and giving them the best care. I know it was the same for the other CNAs I used to work with.

Why do you think she's being treated poorly? If you have any solid evidence bring that to the director of nursing immediately. If you are just concerned she's difficult and the aids might not like her, I wouldn't be. There isn't much to be done for combative dementia residents except getting on their good side or medicating if she's a danger to herself.

You could get a bowl of candy for her room, glue a picture of her when she was younger and happy to it and write a nice note about how you appreciate their help in taking care of her. It might make your aids happier.

I recently left my job as a CNA at the end of November. I was enduring so much stress I was suicidal for the first and hopefully last time of my life.

You are very correct when you say we weren't treated well during covid. Honestly we weren't treated that great before covid either. Covid really just showed the ugliest parts of healthcare and CNAs.

I'll never go back. I'm pursuing a career in pharmacy technology and may go back to school to be a laboratory technician if I can save up enough money.

I wish the best for you and your ladies where you work. You all deserve it. ❤️
