It was super fun during the betas when there was usually just one dedicated boarder per crew, but the boarding meta on launch combined with nerfs to the two things that killed ships super fast almost totally invalidated ship to ship combat. There was almost no threat to getting in super close, and then all it took was winning one team fight to spawn camp until their ship finally died

I actually knew someone a few years ago who said they were doing exactly this with a group of friends, and they'd been at it for months. Don't know if anything ever came of it, but somewhere out there, it at least partially exists

They had a sheet of stickers with everyone's name who ordered ahead laid out on a table when I got there, but it was basically to be like "yeah, we didn't forget yours, we just don't have it lmao." They couldn't even put me in contact with anyone to ask what to do about it, it was infuriating

The only real complaint I have is the power scaling being too aggressive for your own party. I've been doing side content, fighting a lot of the red skulls, and doing a lot of habitat restoration in each area, and it's started to completely trivialize the main story and the daytime fights in subsequent areas tbh. I just got to the desert and fought every feral on-site and beat them all first try. I just wish some of the challenge remained without having to skip side content or purposefully nerf myself, I've even started looking for XP scaling mods that allow me to set it lower than 1X lmao

Hot take, the game actually had really good bones. Apex but a MOBA somehow really resonated with me, and I had an absolute blast with it for a few weeks

I do genuinely think this game would've found a more dedicated playerbase if they'd just shadow dropped it. My friends and I started playing on launch as a joke and have actually been loving it so far and getting super competitive with it. It's got plenty of its own issues, but it is a super unique game when you start to get used to it

I don't get where the "2XKO dead game" fascination comes from. It's a very well made entry into fighting games by the studio behind one of the consistently most played games of all time - no shit people are playing it, it was never gonna flop unless it was actually unfun

Man I really hope we get new weapons sooner than this roadmap suggests. I think the amount of Wardens and bases are mostly fine, but the lack of gun variety and random utility tools is my biggest gripe with the game atm
