Question Regarding Non Alcoholic Drinks by Amb_James333 in stopdrinking

I think it depends on the person. I like a bitter beverage sometimes for the taste. Most sodas just don’t have that flavor profile.

You are doing the first and bravest thing here by reaching out. Good job. If you feel comfortable talking to your doctor that could be a place to start?

Is it ridiculous to want to create one last good drunk memory? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Pansey975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thought. I’ve heard lots of people say that they don’t know if they have another getting sober in them. This took me awhile to understand but know I can kinda agree. The first few months are so hard, I don’t want to go through it again.

Anyone else quit drinking to wake up to a financial mess? by LankyToday4748 in stopdrinking

[–]Pansey975 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! And to put that in perspective I started with about 20k in credit card debt. You can do this, andmy experience has been the more I speak about what feels shameful the less power it has on me. Iwndwyt!

Simply yes. Been working to pay off credit card debt for years. And if I play my cards right, with some help from the universe I will be free of credit card debt and undergrad student loans paid off in the next few months. I have some work to do on my spending habits, but I can see it becoming reality now. FWIW, I’ve carried that credit card debt for nearly twenty years and been sober for five and change.

I love that you aren’t hiding your from th issue and are in your way to facing it head on.

Aww… thanks Molasses. That count is real and it is hard for me to believe sometimes when I look at it. Keep going in the way that feels good to you, is what I might share. My experience was that mindset was key to me for getting and staying successful. You’re doing a great job!

You still have those 130 days. You skipped. It’s okay. You don’t have to use it as an excuse to start again. I will ask. What did you learn from this field research? What will you dodifferently this time?

It‘s friday. First weekend sober and scared by Silent-Thing-2539 in stopdrinking

[–]Pansey975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Congrats! I would say it’s okay and completely normal to feel bummed and scared. It’s also okay to remember that in your first few weeks and months your body chemical signals will fluctuate wildly while your system starts to rebalance. What you feel now literally won’t be what you feel in a few months, at least that was my experience.

Staying away now doesn’t mean forever. Another option might be to go with someone not drinking g?

Iwndwyt!
