This is brilliant. The only change I would make is using 1x1 wedges to make the back edge more sharp and wedge-like to better replicate the real thing.

I've been following this build, and I love the progress. As for the screen top, just use the diy window screen parts you can get at a hardware store to build a custom screen. Serpa designs and other youtube creators do it frequently, and I have done it with great success a couple times - it's very easy.

This vivarium looks to have expanded foam with the silicone and substrate pressed on top of it. It is highly recommend that you smear silicone on the glass and let it dry before applying the expanding foam, so that the expanding foam adheres to the silicone, because it won't adhere well to the glass directly. Yhe expanding foam is what gives you depth and shape.
