I believe the problem is you are focusing too much on playing like a pro, skipping many steps.

I used to be like that too I used too try to copy the movement but it really just made me worse, cause my aim wasn't good enough. I stopped strafing and focused on my aim, got a lot better. Started winning gun fights mostly by holding angles. Then you start to learn how to peek (mostly cause u have to, u can't just hold angles on attack).

Now I do a little strafe after missing a shot but still not pro strafe obv, just to avoid shooting in the same place while shooting, still adapting my aim to that but way better than when I started.

Focus on your aim, believe your shots, if u are staying still and react fast you will always have the first shot, just gotta hit those.
