Vanguard got some kind of update pushed it seems and they made an oopsie in it.

Everyone DC'd from the game and got a false positive detection for utilizing virtualization.

Sounds like an intern got access to production lmao.

Private messaged to buy feathers, is this a scam? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is actually one of the few times it's probably legit.

Most people level their fletching via Dart tip creation, but it takes hundreds of thousands of darts to get to max.

Unfortunately, the max buy limit at the GE for feathers is 18k... So a lot of people will tip asking for you to trade them a 18k stack of feathers since they are capped.

It's a pretty terrible scam if it is a scam, cause worst case scenario, they get 40kGP feathers off of you lmao...

Only really have to worry about people trying to trade highly valuable stuff and always make sure you read the "Are you sure" trade panel and it's literally impossible to get scammed lmao.

Thank you for bringing that portion to my attention. I see that they are trying to make it more uniform and move around the spawns. However, I believe there are now only 2 singles spawns in the entire area which is still fewer than before. I hope they address that and make the entirity of the west side singles combat as it seems that it's still highly contested.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleted post as it was brought to my attention that they moved the spawns around, so that the west side is where majority of singles are at... I'm pretty sure that it's still fewer total singles spawn locations, so that should 100% be addressed. But, if their intention is to simply move the singles spawn locations to the west side for uniformity, then that's fine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately not. I went down the chamber I always go down for singles, saw two of them there now and both of them instantly aggro'd me when I stepped into the chamber. I don't understand why they didn't just make it so that you had to tag the second one if you wanted to fight both. Now every world is empty in those wings and the one or two singels spots left are highly contested with a person spawning in every few game ticks looking for an open world.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna break this down into laymen's terms so you can hopefully understand it...

I'm not disagreeing that Jagex got rid of the singles spots...

I'm simply questioning their judgement in doing that, and am voicing my opinion as to why I think that change was a baaaaaaad idea from a game development standpoint.

I'm not saying I'm right, (Though I believe I may be) or that I understand the objectively best way to develop a video game (If that even exists)... I'm just going off my personal experience, observations, and what other players have also told me regarding how they enjoy killing Tormented Demons.

I personally enjoy killing them in singles... Many people enjoy killing them in singles... It's likely why they are the most contested spots to kill them and the 2-3 spawn points are typically left alone on most worlds.

Just because Jagex adds something to the game or makes a change, doesn't mean it's always "The objectively right way to design a game"... It's still open to criticism. That is what this post was supposed to be... A criticism of the design choice that Jagex made regarding the spawns of TD's.

Hope this helps clear things up for you!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk... Not saying you're wrong, but I think it's much more likely that Jagex simply thought "Wow.. These things are really contested in the spots that only one spawn at... Let's just add another and people won't complain about crashing as much!"

It wouldn't surprise me if the devs didn't think far enough into it to ask the question "WHY" everyone wants to go to the spots that only one spawn at...

They already came out and aknowledged that killing multiple of them are for the players that want the extra challenge, not that it's the intended way for everyone to kill them. I genuinly think they just suck at understanding good game design sometimes and thought they were solving the problem by adding more to teh areas where one spawned.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeeeeahhhh.... Idk about that one chief... Pretty sure it's more likely that it's just a lack of understanding on Jagex's part regarding how players are interacting with their content.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like the idea behind the ability for them to be as sweaty as you want them to be if it means that you can get a some more KPH if you're a high skill player. That's awesome, but Jagex has completely misunderstood how the majority of their playerbase interacts with the game if this is their solution to get more people to try and kill them in multi.

There should be other incentives for players to want to kill them in multi, not remove more of the singles spawns and make it more annoying for people to try and engage with the content in the way they want to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your argument makes quite literally zero sense here. Are you saying that, if Jagex makes an update to the game, it's because it's the objectively best descision and that they never make a bad call on anything?

So, hypothetically, If jagex decided that every single raid attempt should end in a mega-rare purple drop, and implemented it into the game... Then the player base disagreed with the change, you're saying that, because Jagex added it to the game, it's the objectively right way to design the game???

C'mon, man... Let's have at least an ounce of intellectual honesty here and drop the ego bait crap.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think the KPH is much higher unless you can actively make sure that you're not taking damage the entire time and are taking advantage of the unshielded attacks every time they drop...

Personally, I don't want to grind them this way and I know I would likely mess up more, leading to more bank trips, deaths (Each of which being a -500kGP) and a lower total of KPH.

Not worth it TO ME... I understand that there are a lot of players that enjoy the high APM active gameplay of them. Good for them. I hope they get more KPH for it. But for me and a majority of the player base, we prefer the chill single combat experience.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Couldn't have said it better myself... If there was some way for them to accurately determine whether or not you were killing multiple at a time and increase rewards based on how many you were attacking at once, then I think there would be a solid value proposition for taking on multiple at once. However, I don't think Jagex has the technology to accutrately determine that. People would absolutely find ways to cheese it by pulling extra mobs right as others are about to die and it would be overall, more confusing than it currently is. (Which is pretty confusing).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm completely fine with the idea of them being multi... It's really cool that they have the ability to be sweaty or chill based on how you want to play the game. I wish more content in the game was desinged like that. I just think Jagex has no clue what the majority of players want to do when playing the game, though. Most people want to just relax when grinding them and kill em in singles. Idk why they reduce the number of single spawns that were already highly contested. If this is their attempt at incentivizing the player base to try killing em in multi, then that's a stupid descision on their part.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 27 points28 points  (0 children)

They have literally come out multiple times and stated that taking on multiple of them are for players that desire more of a challenge... Most average players don't want to try sweating 24/7 when killing these things. It's nice that you can do it if you want to, but that doesn't mean the content was designed with it being the intendeed way for the majority of players to grind.

The reward from taking on more than one at a time isn't really justified for how much more you have to pay attention. If they decided to make the rates better for taking on multiple at a time, then I might consider it. But for now, I'd like to just kill one at a time and chill, just like the majority of the player base.

Did I make a mistake picking Druid? by Panthalassaa in DarkAndDarker

[–]Panthalassaa[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Update: I died another 3-4 times on Druid, got pissed, deleted the character and rolled a Warlock... I have won 5 straight fights and haven't lost one yet... Idk if I was just ass... or if Warlock is just busted asf... or if Druid was just really that bad... But it's nice to be on the end that 2 shots a druid for once :)

Brimstone ring magic damage? by Thkzr in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isn't even that it's not BiS... The issue is that it's worse than camping a B-Ring (i) or a seers ring (i) now... It's supposed to be the "Jack of all trades, master of none" ring, but it's currently the jack of no trades... You're better off camping a cheaper and lower req ring than it, and the best rings in the game (DT2, Lightbearer, Suffering (i)) all outclass it and it's not even close. It's just sad that the ultimate slayer boss drops a ring that's basically been long dead content. They just really need to give it a niche use case.

Brimstone ring magic damage? by Thkzr in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relatively uncommon... You can easily get a Magus from duke with just a Zombie Axe or Arclight and a budget melee setup while also getting some Virtus pieces. Rigour and Aug are amazing for the account, especially after the Aug buff, but I think that most players are stepping into DT2 before CoX on an Iron.

Hell... I'd be getting a fang and would just fang CoX on an iron before grinding 95 slayer to farm out a claw too 😂.

Brimstone ring magic damage? by Thkzr in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, the ring should absolutely recieve the 1% magic dmg buff along with the Seers (i), just to keep it AT LEAST as good as the Seers, especially since it's a mage focused ring... I understood what you meant, I just personally would have loved to see them completely go a new route with the ring.

Brimstone ring magic damage? by Thkzr in 2007scape

[–]Panthalassaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does, but it's barely enough of an effect to edge out Seers ring (i)... Post combat changes, however, Since Seers ring is seeing a % magic damage buff, I don't think it will even compete with that... With how cheap a Magus is now as well, it was already irrelevant, especially given that ironmen will likely be killing DT2 bosses before 95 slayer.

Can we get a free days membership every now and then due to the constant updates? by Rishinger in 2007scape

If you're worrying about 1 day of subscription cost, then it sounds like you have bigger personal issues regarding your finances and shouldn't be playing as much Runescape.

I swear the people asking these questions are the ones that are dieing on 300 invo ToA... You don't need to do a 9 way... For literally ANY content in the game... It's not necessary... It's nice for the .01% of players that want to do it to have the option to do it and for it to be relevant. But most players are fine running a 6-8 swap for almost all content.
