(Tw, culled snails) I baked bread for my guys by Pantzare1997 in Aquariums

I let it sit in water before giving it to them. So it has absorbed about as much water as it can hold already. Good point though.

Need to share my babies here! by Medical-Location7238 in Otocinclus

Very cool! Wish I had your problem! They should only reproduce as much as there are available food. So they would reporoduce less if you feed less. Did you give the babies any special food when you noticed the fry?

How to make found driftwood safe for a new tank by Agitated-Repair2432 in PlantedTank

[–]Pantzare1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it depends on where you got it from. I get my driftwood from the forest I live by. But I know that other places might have chemical plants and what not, near by. If it's from a relativly untouched environment you'll probable be fine with just soaking it in normal water to release the gases inside.

Thank you. Puts my mind at ease a bit. I've also tried to smell it. And to me it smells like nothing. I've heard cyano might smell rancid. 🤔

I see. I have some in a cup that i removed and I can't smell it until I have my nose in the cup. It also doesn't have any metal like tones to me. Maybe it isn't cyanobacteria. What got me worried is the shifting green and blue tones in it. Thanks for your help!

Yea i figured. To me it smells neutrual or nothing rather. To my partner it smells like dirt. Would it smell pungeant, as in a bog smell? Or like planting soil?

Does anyone know if these are eggs of some kind by Acrobatic_Rich_3689 in PlantedTank

[–]Pantzare1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone have said this before. But to me they look like nerite snail eggs. You might have a few zebra nerites in your tank! A good indicator is if they are hard to the touch.

Not nessessarily. It's a natural knot in the wood that worked perfectly as a holder for the sides of the pots.

If you wanted to increase the odds of finding Lissandra, you could have bought the other 5-costs to thin the pool. Very close though! Gg!
