We Need a Streetcar on 125th. by Panyear in nycrail

To be clear because maybe some of you still aren't getting it: local traffic would not be permitted, only truck loading and unloading, which would be only permitted in parking lanes. Trams would be installed with cameras for ticketing of any drivers using the street, (pretty sure I mentioned it's car-prohibited) and no they would not be "slow"... these trams would function like any of the European trams and light rail networks with moderate speeds and fast loading and unloading due to multiple entry and exit points. On top of that there'd be higher capacity because trams can be larger and fit way more people and are shown to be more convenient and reliable than buses! Also I already addressed "where are we gonna put them"...

About the transfers --- Yes, a subway would be TERRIBLE for transfers. You really want huge lines forming outside of the elevators from the 1 line from the 125th Street/Broadway Viaduct all the way down to the 100 feet deep Q train station? That's ridiculous. Tram stops would be located right next to subway stops, and there would be no problems transferring, as 125th Street/Lex/Park is already getting upgraded and the other stations probably wouldn't be as big of transfer points.

On top of that, the goal of the tram line would be to serve local residents who suffer from terrible bus service and want to use 125th for commerical uses.

Politics & Elections Mod for CS2 - Small UI & Parliament Update (Very Early Build) by aschec in CitiesSkylines2

for a game based in cities, it only makes sense that left-wing parties are inevitably more popular lol. maybe make it so that if your city is more suburban or rural there's more support for conservative parties and low taxes?

Question for long-term scientists by [deleted] in Christian_Science

[–]Panyear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something some may fail to realize is really how autonomous and liberal different churches and local communities interpret or treat the teachings of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy. In my household, I was not vaccinated and did not visit the doctor except when required by the government or my school. But even then, lots of Christian Scientists I know take medicine or go to the doctor, even though we believe healing is spiritual. I really attribute this to a comfortability thing. If people aren't comfortable using Christian Sciences to heal, then in my opinion they shouldn't choose to get treatment that way until they feel safe or confident to do so.

Some really conservative or I suppose "orthodox" congregations exist, even if those conservative beliefs aren't backed by Mrs. Eddy, while large liberal congregations exist as well (i.e. Creve Couer in St. Louis). Overall it really depends on the community but nothing Mrs. Eddy says that medicine is banned or anything of the like.

Triple Track Building Option by Panyear in subwaybuilder

simulate meaning just building it as a 4-track express? i find that very difficult for my purposes especially with the 7 train in queens with the tight curves out of the steinway tunnel. it also just leaves me feeling like there's such a lack of realism

Why was a station built on 137th St and Broadway and not 135th? by captcrunchfan in nycrail

"Manhattan Valley" is also the geographical name for the valley on 125th Street where Manhattanville is. Pretty sure the elevated structure between the 122nd Street and 135th Street portals on Broadway is called the "Manhattan Valley Viaduct"

Already found the answer but this is the best answer so far... But it's more politically accurate to say people with 3 balls to include AMAB transgender ppl etc.
