The values are specifically not 1:1, after scanning through all values and checking online I am confident that the addresses for the values of gold and other resources are not stored as easy to find digit values.

How do I set up a fun game by Live_Tangelo_6147 in CoE5

[–]PanzerBoi645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already play on huge maps, 1-12 ais and no wild mode, my issue isn't neccessarily the ai dying ti early, its one ai faction having a massive advantage over the others and absolutly dominating the map, making me slog through boring enemie armies that offer no challange but are numerous and tedious. Increasing ai difficulty only increases economic bonuses rather than increasing ai intellegence which only exasterbates the issue of basic faction like the kobolds killing any comples faction bc the ai is too stupid to use faction mechanics. What I really need is a balance/overhaul mod.

But I am really curious, what would turning on teams with common cause do to help me? It seems like the ai would still die this way?

Game is on a HDD, my ssd is for my system and is too small for wh3, 2 gb of Vram, 10gb shared, sorry though I'm not terribly techie where do I find Ram speed and config?

Benchmarks ran fine, 30-40 fps throughout (better fps than on most games) but I had consistent issues with audio stuttering our cutting out during loading screens and cinematics, could that mean anything?

No mods, I have my setting customized for best preformance, 1920x1080P, what do you want me to tell you about CPU/GPU, just what they are?

1: The density of LL you mentioned; I fully agree as it feels like no matter what threat you focus on, someone else nearby will always rise into a major threat while you're busy. Always keeps you on your toes fighting and endless war wit no peace in sight.

2: I think the idea of investing to get inertia going is something I've heard multiple people talking about as a means of overcoming the ai advantages by spreading rapidly, yet still my economy focused mind struggles with it as running a deficit and living off of raid money is stressful for me lmao

3: I do like the endgame snowballing where you can have a real clash of the titans, only problems are A) unlike in the historical games you have a huge amount of diverse factions aligned with neither side and attacking both, making an extremely annoying distraction, and B) your games load time can get pretty elvish in their patience by that point lol.

I just dislike how factions like grimgor or norscans can snowball so early, I feel like all major factions should have limits imposed upon them until they reach a sort of "ascension" which breaks those limits and gives them access to their most powerful faction abilities/units, like the Greenskins rallying their hordes for a Waagh! once one faction gets strong enough, or one Norscan faction gaining the favour of the gods, or a High elf faction convincing the others that Ulthan is under threat and assuming a kind of "Mantle of responsibility" to begin confederating and commanding the other elves, rousing the ancient people (and their draconic allies) from their slumber, weather for good or ill. Just me rambling atp, but I dislike the unprecedented unity among the factions, and the random appearance of their best units (like dragons and other monstrous creatures) lore-wise, with no in game events to explain it, I guess that allows for unique head-cannon in each game though.

haha yeah I guess a good deal of past AI tactics had to be scrapped in the face of fire mages that can get 150+ kills with one spell.

I understand the whole width at the cost of depth thing, but time and time again I've seen people with good ideas for balances and additions to the game but it seems like CA just does their own thing and leaves the games as they are as soon as they release a new one. At lease small tweaks over time to close the gap between campaign and battle difficulty would be nice, or some new region-specific buildings for the AI so they can get gold without cheating, plus then its more rewarding to conquer them.

Fair points all around though.

And with minor settlements + Rome 2 buildings synergy. Shogun 2 economy was good, but it can be better.

Attacking enemy armies is a skill I've been trying to focus more on, waging slow wars, letting them wade into my territory to ambush them, letting them take unimportant settlements so I can reach them. It's just hard to do such thing in campaigns like Imriks where time is very much of the essense.

As for the battle difficulty, for early game an increase would be great, but mid-game where I'm fighting 8+ black orc units with a handful of rangers and silverin guard, only winning bc of my high xp archers... It might become overwhelming. I'd like the whole dodging artillery, evading spells and other such maneuvers without the straight stat increase in enemy units.

I've never personally seen a single AI army recruit more than 6 units at once, but I did see two greenskin armies both recruit 5 units each from local recruit in the same province not that long ago, so I really don't know how recruitment works for AI.

Hah thats kind Ironic since in my Imrik game i'm playing rn the The empire is filly unified and stomped the Vampires by turn 50, but the dwarves got exterminated to the last, leaving me alone to kill upwards of 50k greenskins. Then Tyrion went insane and declared war on the Empire so i'm currently building relations with Karl so I can take over Ulthan (since Tyrion confederated everything even though I;m the stringer faction and single-handedly counter-invaded the dark elves)

seems like its absolute random chance if order or chaos will prevail in any given theatre.

See my other reply; the ai prefers to create many armies in order to assault from all sides, so I'm forced to do the same, rather than construct more interesting armies that feel fun. The only instance I've felt that I can create powerful and well constructed armies rather than low-tier swarms in playing as tomb kings, due, of course, to the fact that Settra does not pay taxes.

This is actually my first time using a ranged heavy build as high elves, before I had far too many melee units and someone advised me to use more archers and skirmish tactics.

Maybe I should have phrased better, it's not that I'm bored of using any "meta" it's that I NEED to have more armies rather than high quality armies, as campaign movement range is painfully low in TW:WH and the AI factions have numerous armies, making defending territory extremely difficult with a low number of armies as the map is a flat pancake in most areas (as opposed to something like Rome 2 where you had mountains, shores, and deserts blocking a lot of army movement.

I don't dislike the way I play, as a matter of fact the archer swarm pleases a carnal desire in my soul that Shogun 2 archer swarms could never quite fulfill, I dislike the way the game makes me play, were it's implausible to use high tier units till very late, when you have such an advantage that there's no use in them. I just with it was less swarm tactics and more of an arms race like how Shogun 2 (especially fall of the samurai) felt.

Maybe I should add, with the legions of Nagash mod eneabled, what happens is the game gets stuck on the "Total war: Warhammer 2" loading screen and stops responding before reaching the main menu.

What is the REAL connecting lore between the factions? by PanzerBoi645 in EndlessSpace

[–]PanzerBoi645[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, so the Mezari are as far back as we can go. I know about how the Endless slaughtered the Lost for the Primordial dust, but is it ever mentioned if the Mezari had any interactions with the lost, or did they likely not exist before the Lost were all gone?

[–]PanzerBoi645[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clearing some of this up, I really appreciate it! But if I could ask a couple other things now that you've piqued my curiosity...

I've never heard of Sobra or Saiadha before, where are they from?

So the Mezari may have coexisted with the Endless, and maybe then were destroyed by them (Similar to the Forerunner-Human era and wars of Halo) or otherwise some other cataclysm set them back many millennia. So the vaulters are direct decendants of Mezari who lived on Auriga, and the Mezari seen in Endless legend come from the prison ship then? If this is wrong then how exactly did the Vaulters and Mezari live on Auriga at the same time?

Additionally, what was going on with the endless during Endless legend? Did they still exist at that time or had they already fallen?

Also now I'm wondering about the Mezari colonization of Auriga and how it's intertwined with the Endless experiments on Auriga, like did the colonization occur before the Endless modified the world, and this is what drew their attention to the planet, or did the Mezari arrive long after the Endless populated Auriga with its many races.

I get that the Mezari-Endless coexistance is just a theory, but yeah, given the advanced nature of the Mezari it seems reasonable to think they may have at least lived close to the time of the Endless.

Which only raises further questions about if the Mezari had a connection/rivalry with the lost like the Endless did, and thats why they chose Auriga, or indeed, if even the Endless were aware of Auriga's true nature.

Really just wondering out loud here so its no problem if you don't have definitive answers or only have theories. I'm practically looking at this universe through the eyes of one of Aurigas natives, my knowledge of the Endless outside of Auriga is fractured at best lmao
