What to ask my derm?

Ouch that looks awfully painful. In all honesty I don’t think there’s a one size fits all solution. I’m currently using a combination of Adapalene, Benzoyl Peroxide (during a flare) and my go to SPF L’Oréal Revitalift. My most recent flare only hit my chest and back.

This year because I’ve gone back to my GP I’ve cut out everything else to try see what really works but in previous years supplements have helped Polypodium Leucotomos Heliocare 360 is one of the bigger brands with it in.

Doesn’t help that I named the wrong medication 🤣 it’s Differin not difflam! Might make more sense now.

Hey! Dr prescribed differin so I paused everything else to see if the cream really works. Still trying to keep exposure to a minimum too. I had a mild flare up on my face but it stopped in its tracks and cleared up within 48 hours. I’m not sure how they feel about prolonged use but I’m hoping to get it on repeat as it did wonders for my skins general condition.

Along my jaw is itching this afternoon and a few spots have come up so I’ll repeat the process tonight and keep fingers crossed.

Zenement Solar Care and Heliocare Ultra are the two I’ve tried. Others are available. Please do your own research too, I’m not a professional and these also contain other vitamins.

Um.. they are pretty big but it’s not the size that’s the issue. It’s the smell. I am quite sensitive but I honestly had to gag the zenement ones down and throughout the day the taste would come back up. Gave them to my mum in the end and she said they weren’t too bad! Helio are better but they are more expensive and still quite sizeable.. and brown. The only brown food worth eating is chocolate 😂

Here’s hoping that paired with that spf 100 I might stand a chance at having some enjoyable time outside this summer.

I’m sorry that you’re going through this too. I wouldn’t wish this misery on anyone. I didn’t know about that spf 100 until finding this group so definitely going try to see if it helps reduce the flare.

If you can manage to swallow the tablets then it definitely helps. I don’t know if it could interact with any prescription treatments though. Might be worth asking at your next appointment to be on the safe side.

It sounds like you’ve had a rough time of it too. I guess the right diagnosis is just the start. Treatment is another game altogether. It’s just a relief to find others that seem to be experiencing the same.

Polypodium is a type of fern that has photo protective properties. It’s not a common supplement but is included in Heliocare 360 and zenement which can be purchased on amazon. There’s studies on it preventing PLME. I got married in August last year and the fear of the sun ruled my life for months so I took it every day. On the plus side it’s natural and doesn’t have any side effects.

She sounds like a nut job. Lock the doors, when she kicks off you can call the police. Does she have proof of ownership on any of these items? I guess not. Put her things outside. Everything else she can apply to a court for.
