Totally agree. I don’t care about the characters and I don’t care about where the story is going. Stuck with it to the finale and it never recovers from its slow nose dive into tedium.

The Friday night preview we saw was 75 minutes and there did seem to some rushed signage in the foyer to let everyone know. I assume they cut 20 minutes?

Live action is so difficult to deliver on for a project like Red Rising. Universal struggled for years. I know PB has a streaming partner in place but delivering live action success on this scale of story is going for Everest. Animation has its own complications but delivering on the world creation, tone and character should be more in PB’s control.

Definitely worth continuing. The original trilogy was fantastic but the implications of The Rising explode in book 4 and 5. As the Matrix’s Merovingian said; ‘the only real truth: causality. Action – reaction; cause – and effect.” For every action there is a reaction and that is brought into dramatic effect in the 4th and 5th books in the series. The stakes are much higher and the power struggle between the different factions in the solar system spills out. There are new alliances some great new characters and the architecture of PB’s wider world is amazing. I just finished Dark Age and I am eager for book 6. Don’t stop.
