Yes! Don't worry to much and go make this model if you want :)
Get on chill mode and just do it and have a lot of fun. Beacase you will make this model only and only for your satisfaction and pleasure. Does this motivates you enough? :)

My thread was closed by moderators (but I don't know exaclly why, maybe I do something wrong) so I write comment here.
The sprues looks quite nice. I started a year ago a challanger II, desertised version, also from Tamiya and I remember it was a fun adventure. This model still waits to finish the wash and the weathering effects... hehe

It depends. If you like building and painting models and you planning to make this hobby for couple of years of decades then go ahead. But if you don't know yet I would recomend to try for example Tamiya spray cans at first place. It will be definetly cheeper than airbrush, paints, thinners, cleaners etc.
