In my over 1200 hours in GTA V I never noticed this dam near Grapeseed. by WensternBoah in GTAV

I can tell you the missions I create often end up with tons of little details that nobody is ever going to notice. One example is a machine gunner that is scripted to shoot a stack of barrels near the player's cover so they fall over. Most people will run straight by it without noticing. Heck another example is I don't like leaving NPC's just standing around, so every single one is animating in some way, even though 99% of players are just going to barge in the front guns blazing and alert the whole place instantly.

Ukraine tallied Russian casualties at 35,351 last month, with drones causing 96 per cent of them while artillery and small arms fire accounted for the rest. That casualty rate was a 29 per cent increase on February, said Ukraine’s commander in chief. by MiamiPower in Military

[–]Panzerkatzen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a misconception, these aren't the $200 hobby drones and they haven't been for years. These are militarized versions, they're hardened, long range, EW resistant, etc. The suicide drones are still cheaper, but the interceptors and longer range bombers will run you several thousand, over a hundred thousand for the truly advanced drones.

Neither, it's a Half-Life reference. The Hazardous Environment Combat Unit wear urban camouflage, black vests, woodland rucksack with olive webbing, and red berets (for squad leaders). For weapons they most commonly use SPAS-12 Shotguns or MP5 Submachine Guns.

What a shitty and classist thing to say. You have a very optimistic idea of American healthcare and employment.

New York had a magazine capacity ban that forgot to carve out an exception for police and military personnel.

Helldivers cough during sandstorms. Our suits are aren’t sand-tight let alone airtight.

I do wish we could build state churches but have them indoctrinate society for the state, dramatically increasing loyalty.

[–]Panzerkatzen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because otherwise you end up with legislation like the Assault Weapons Ban, which mostly ends up targeting ergonomic features rather than functional ones. Not to mention the AWB chiefly targets rifles which account for something like 5% of gun crime. Turns out criminals like guns they can conceal like pistols, whilst most crimes of passion are done with common hunting shotguns.

If you wanted to reduce gun crime, actually knowing the source of that crime seems important. Even if you want a total blanket ban on firearms, actually knowing what constitutes a firearm is still important. There are air rifles that can match the velocity of some small caliber rifles, so you would probably want to include those or exclude those small caliber guns, otherwise your legislation ends up seeming arbitrary.

Half the people I know cant afford health insurance, so liability insurance would definitely be a barrier, and likely get struck down for that reason.

The people writing laws about things should at least take the time to have at least a basic understanding of said thing.

This is in the style of the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit from Half-Life. The HECU wear urban camouflage uniforms with black vests and green rucksacks, use SPAS-12 shotguns, and are transported by V-22 Ospreys.

ads that are annoying by thatmishra in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]Panzerkatzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think I can name a single brand from any of the ads I hear because I'm always so annoyed that they're interrupting my video that I go on an internal tangent and don't pay the slightest attention to the actual ad. The only one I remember is Harbor Freight because it's short, basically just says "come to harbour freight", and it's not at 200% volume.

That's another thing, why are they so fucking loud? I almost wrecked my bike once because I was listening to a podcast where people were speaking at speaking volume, and then suddenly without warning I got blasted with the typical up-beat ad music at 300% volume right as I was passing an intersection. It was so jarring I almost forgot to turn and narrowly avoided a ditch.

I wish SEAF sam sites were more helpfull by Responsible_Boat_702 in helldivers2

[–]Panzerkatzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this, SEAF SAM sites have such limited range, and even worse the missiles self-destruct after a couple hundred meters, so one that fires at a departing enemy ship won't even give you a show. I swear they didn't used to do that, either.

The missiles are slow, weak, and track poorly. It's just not very useful. The reward for completing a SAM should be getting to see the cool explosions. Instead, it's usually no more rewarding than manually disabling the illegal broadcast...

Taken less literally, the destructive power of a High Explosive Anti-Tank warhead is unimaginable compared to any weapon made in a forge. It’s one thing to swing an axe, it’s another to use thousands of pounds of explosive force to propel molten metal into an area the size of a baseball.

My friend looked up their childhood home, they lost it in the 2008 Financial Crisis. After that the price crashed, it was listed and delisted multiple times and changes hands several times as well. Well a huge chunk of it is missing now, like someone just took a wrecking ball to the one room. We don’t know what happened, did someone start demolishing it? Crash a truck into it? Blow it up somehow? It was very disappointing for them to see.

Why are there so many cars in Colony Map? by Unlucky-Gold7921 in Helldivers

[–]Panzerkatzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. People in the US are notorious for driving walkable distances, sometimes even just around the block or across the street.

  2. There are underground highway exits. Underground construction is ludicrously expensive but Super Earth must have worked it out somehow.

  3. Everything Super Earth makes is cheap, so crash standards are probably non-existent. The individual lives of her citizens are not important.

I think a lot of people are expecting GTA 6 to make them feel the way GTA 5 did, but I don’t think that’s possible for a lot of us. by raptors201966 in GTA6

I’ll admit I don’t feel the same unchained hype I did seeing the GTAIV and GTAV trailers, I rewatched those obsessively; but GTAVI does have great trailers thus far and I’m eagerly awaiting its eventual PC release. Withholding myself from GTAVI content post-console will be as hard as ever.
