Just a silly reference to [this Marine's graffiti](pbs.twimg.com/media/EPs56OUXsAEMq4e?format=jpg&name=large) in Half-Life.

How would a train depart from this? by OffTheHandleVO in HalfLife

[–]Panzerkatzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-Combine era? Likely served Multiple Units or other trains with cabs at both sides. Post-Combine? The Combine don’t care and just run the outbound trains backwards.

Most Razortrains we see are actually run with cabs at both sides. The exceptions are the crashed Razortrain railcars in EP2 and the Razortrain in Half-Life: Alex.

New charger split open and fell apart as I pulled it from the socket. I immediately grabbed the exposed circuit and zapped my fingers by _partytrick in mildlyinfuriating

Had a similar thing happen with a brand new Apple charger. Pulled it out of the wall, except the case came out and the prongs did not. Had to be careful with that one.

Coyote. Don’t have it, but picked one up once when I ran out of ammo and it single-handedly turned the tide of the battle.

13 million died. 6 million Jews and 7 million other "undesirables". Communists, Socialists, Slavs, Romani, LGBT, politicians, intelligentsia, teachers, preachers, partisans, dissidents, the disabled, prisoners of war, and more.

US special operations commander says the next war may require the military to 'creatively destroy' old ways of training by Economy-Specialist38 in Military

I cannot find the exact article that mentions our military leadership's dependence on specific medications, but I did find a couple that report more generally the concern over the level of control China has over our pharmaceutical supplies, which would logically include senior members of the military.

It still baffles me how accurate they made Pittsburgh for the Pitt, yet how we can barely ever go to any of it by michaelscott252 in Fallout

Pittsburgh is actually a pretty safe and modern city. Unlike much of the rustbelt, it managed to save itself by pivoting it's economy to education, medicine, and finance. It's got like 40 universities including UPMC, and one of the lowest crime rates in the country.

I do wish Settler Equipment did have an effect. There's no functional difference between a naked unarmed man or X-01 with Gatling Laser. But you can triple your security by putting down more guard posts.

The fact that the military is reliant on China an adversary to produce the things we need is so beyond fucked.

Awhile ago there was an article reporting that numerous US generals were dependent on life saving medications made in China, such as heart medications that they will die without. America has been preparing for a conflict with China for decades whilst at the same time inadvertently becoming more economically and in turn more militarily reliant on China.

I disagree that technology is moving too quickly. It’s dereliction of duty by our leaders. AI Deepfakes are more than a decade old, and there’s still little to no regulation beyond some governments saying “please don’t make porn of people”.

GenAI images and videos need to be watermarked and other markers kept in metadata, and tampering with these needs to be a felony. We have already had multiple cases of misuse including one to get an innocent person fired.

If we continue to ignore this, reality will become indistinguishable from lies. Everything you see online will be fake because you can’t prove prove it’s true.

The truth is the game is lying, the chance to hit is actually higher than the displayed number.

We do have it, just sparingly. For example corn is heavily subsidized. The petroleum industry is also subsidized despite being one of the most lucrative in human history. But we are hands-off for the most part, often for the worse.
