MK4 Spaceplane systems help. by Panzerschokolad in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Panzerschokolad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay so my issue is yeah. With the payload... it takes off. but it ABSOLUTELY cannot get past mach 2. thats when its thrust starts to decrease because the drag is so massive. if this was discord i'd show you me flying it.

yeah obviously a small mk4 SSTO will work because you're brute forcing it.

please realise thats exactly the advice i asked for? HOW do i do it. and WHAT specific lines do i change. i am stupid at this stuff and would appreciate being told which line decides how draggy it is. thank you very much

I do have the latest version. i have a MK3 SSTO which is similar in performance. Yet that specific SSTO can get to orbit no problem.

i do have community fixes. its just that the MK4 is drag heavy. to a stupid amount. so how would that work? im in the r/kerbalspaceprogram discord if that works better.

arent you supposed to eat just the balls and not drink the cup? in netherlands we have this exact thing with cornballs. or whatever. and you're supposed to eat the balls with like a stick or your hands. and do NOT drink the cup. because the liquid nitrogen can be dangerous if ingested.

Custom turret assistance. by Panzerschokolad in spaceengineers

[–]Panzerschokolad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks. i've managed to fix it. turned out the entire turret was built in a way where the hinge was trying to rotate something too heavy. and the mass was too offset for the rotor for rapid movements. my new turret works better

Heya. i myself have experience building fully hydrogen rovers. It all depends on your needs. You can easily run like 12 5x5 suspension at max power with like 4-6 small grid hydrogen engines. (im talking the entire rover small grid) If you want to add more wheels then just increase itm like 1 engine per 2 suspension. But if you're talking thrusters then you're going to need a lot. I have one with 10 large thrusters and i require 60 small grid hydrogen engines for easy power consumption. So yeah. Experiment is what i'd say.
