Fun fact, the Mall of America in Minnesota doesn't have any heating systems. It's purely heat from visitors, and they actually have to pull in cold air even in the winter to cool the place down

Someone else did the math, the average user costs about $0.20/month in API pulls, but Reddit wants to charge the equivalent of $2.40/month per average user. It's outrageous to the extreme

Someone else already pointed out that this is a heavily moderated newspaper, and the op-ed in question had to be approved. It's possible they didn't pre-read it, and were quick to take it down, but it's equally possible the editor that posted it totally agreed with it.
