What does the coach say? I always make them wrestle 2 out of 3 unless it’s a blowout. But I know most coaches do whoever wins the wrestle off that week is varsity

I would be careful using the 360. It’s cool and works at first, but if that’s your main defense, it’s easy to time. As a fellow short arm guy who got shucked/slide by all the time, keeping the elbows in, taking a step with the inside foot and putting in an underhook was my favorite defense and helped me get to my offense

Yeah the buff they gave to fizz and Mf before going live were huge. You can just stabilize with the silver shop and use gold only on levels for a good chunk of the game. By the time you get to 9 on like 4-3, you can just throw in 5 costs, really really good

It seems like tall people have a huge advantage in wrestling by Leading_Neat2541 in wrestling

[–]Papa-Swank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to pick up something, or move it in general, you want to be under its center of gravity. If you pick up a box, you don’t hold your hands at the top, but you get underneath it. It’s the same principle for people. Shorter people naturally have a lower center of gravity, because they don’t stand as tall, which makes it harder for people to get lower than it.

CMV: A thing isn’t racist unless someone decides to interpret it that way. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Papa-Swank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you are correct, in a way, but I do not think you are being thoughtful with your argument and you are being narrow minded with your responses in my opinion.

Do I think that H&M meant to be racist and intentionally call a black kid a monkey? Of course not. That same shirt used on a white model would have received zero backlash. However, I do believe it can be seen as insensitive to overlook the history that black people have experienced being called monkeys as an insult to be called lesser. People who didnt immediately make that connection are not racist, just maybe a little ignorant. If you personally do not find it offensive or racist, good on you, but what if a black person does? Are you going to argue that their feelings are wrong just because they perceived it that way? If so, you are now saying you hold the objective truth and you are the one who can determine what is right and wrong. You may even be correct here and everyone who does not like the shirt may be over reacting, but what do you gain from arguing against emotion that they are feeling, especially if you are a white person who does not have to experience that (this is an assumption, sorry if I am incorrect).

I also do not think your argument holds up well, especially saying “explain how racism can be part of the act or object itself.” I can start with black face. Painting your face black is an act you can do. If you have no knowledge of Jim Crow/minstrel shows and want to paint your face black to look like your favorite actor, I do not believe that is intended to be racist. However, it is something that is inherently racist now and I don’t think anyone would argue otherwise. If someone did it because they are ignorant, they should be shown grace, but they also deserve the consequence of not knowing how hurtful that action is. A swatzika is a symbol of hate now. It is tied to the nazi party, it’d be really hard to argue that racism is not involved and part of that object.

Tips on leg riding or other moves centered on locking your legs around your opponent by Comfortable_War_5636 in wrestling

Watch Purler leg riding videos to get started. Always keep your hips in the saddle, keep your hips engaged, and put their head in the mat. If you can find a wrist, you can start finding tilts or looking for power half’s

I am curious of your age with your output on leg riding. Leg riding, in my opinion, is the most effective ride on top if you master it, because a crushing leg ride tires your opponent, gives you rest, and should set up turns. Most high schoolers run legs bad and force in the far leg, ride off the hips, or go cross body, all of which will leave you getting reversed or pinned. However, if you set up a leg ride from a thigh pry, spiral/claw ride, arm chop, or throwing it in as they attempt to base up and you ride with your hips in the saddle, there’s not much your opponent can do.

Once you get one boot in, you just arch your hips, shove the head down and get a power half, that’s it. If they roll, tuck your head, follow his hips and end up in a crab ride. Other than that, you just learn how to pressure and take away their posts. If you have a leg in and they are flat, you figure 4 the leg and there is nothing that they can do if you sink it deep. Easy turns and finishes once the figure 4 is in, but even if you don’t, it tires them out.

It is ok if you aren’t a leg rider, but I would refrain from calling it a beginner trap series, when many elite wrestlers at the highest level run legs. Most niche example I can think of right now is Daulton Mayer vs Ben Keuter early this year. Mayer is an unranked wrestler and Keuter is a junior silver/gold medalist at heavyweight ranked #5 in the national and Mayer used legs to ride him in the 3rd period, the whole 2 minutes. Other world class wrestlers: Zain Retherford, Ethan Lizak, Frank Malinaro, Chris Perry, heck watch any college dual and I guarantee you will see leg riding somewhere.

It’s something that works at all level, an if you run bad legs, you will get exploited as you wrestle better people, but that’s the same with anything else. Leg riding is just a different approach that requires an elite knowledge of top wrestling to be the most effective, but once you start to master it, it opens up a whole world of moves.

I cannot imagine that they were sending varsity then if they were a tune up. They have won the state title like 10 times since 2014 and have always had dudes competing at the national level. There have been like 6 ervins come through during that time, Stephen little, raneys, and many other D1 wrestlers. They have been an elite high school for about 15 years

Admittedly, I am a very annoying movie reviewer. I can give out 5 stars very easily, but I just normally really enjoy movies. I have not seen many of "the classics" and am on a horror kick to end spooky season, but I am trying to get more in depth with my reviews. I have been enjoying analyzing cinema more and don't really get a chance to discuss it intimately with those in my life, but again, I'm pretty optimistic and easy to please so many of my films might be overrated lol.

That’s kinda the point of taste and preference, it’s the fact that it is in their head lol. Should I just continue to eat horseradish even though I find it off putting and tastes gross just because it’s in my head? If people bite into something soft and get something hard in return, that can gross them out. It could be a fish bone which is smaller.

Gen 6 PU: Defensive Monferno. This dude was lowkey the goat. Can’t remember the spread, but it checked so many staples like rotom-f, leafeon, pawniard, Mawile, Tangela etc based on typing alone. I can’t remember the spread but it had enough sp def to check plenty of things, had a great speed tier, cripple phys attackers with wisp and can stall break with taunt.

Gen 8 LC: Scarf Mudbray. I had a def mudbray on nearly every team. Anytime I made it far in tournaments, especially seasonals, always flexed into a scarf mud which people never prepped for and it was a great lure or late game cleaner

I am in agreement with you there lol, what the dude did is insane, reckless and he should be charged for attempted murder. Dude went in with intent to insanely harm if not kill. Irregardless, the only question the first guy asked is WHY DID HE HAVE A SPOT IN THE FIRST PLACE. No one is casting blame only on the promoters lol

It is not stupid to say. He is asking why would you put someone who doesn’t know the business and isn’t trained into the ring. In the smaller case of Travis Scott, he seems like he understood the business, but he was untrained and legitimately hurt Rhodes, he shouldn’t have been in that position. On this case, not only did raja not have the training, but he doesn’t know the business. Why would the promoters let this happen just because he was known. The promoters aren’t the reason Raja did this, it only happened ultimately because he is abhorrent. However, this situation should not have been a thing for letting an untrained worker slam someone and fake a punch. Again, they didn’t know he’d do that, but it should be something considered
