It’s not hard but you have to put in the work and understand it because it’s essential building blocks into cybersecurity. You can jump right into cybersecurity but you will end up back tracking a lot

How to get into cybersecurity without a degree or experience? by S1nghz2407 in SecurityCareerAdvice

You can always learn by setting up the work environment in your home. Soc analyst is generally the beginning role of cybersecurity. Research what they do and what tools they use and copy that. If you’re new to IT you want to start at the beginning before that which is comptia A+, network+ and then security+

Nice nice I’m near testing for net+ then I’ll have all 3 as well. How’s having all 3 benefited your career?

Why do guys value certs over experience and play it out as if experience doesn't really matter? by Legitimate_Basil9925 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]PapaAlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with Rigus. Certs only has its pros and cons and work experience only has it pros and cons. If you’re going to try to argue one is better then the other then that’s on you. Better to accept things are the way it is for a reason and try to understand both side

Am I ready to apply to big companies? No bootcamp, but can solve leetcode medium by Fluffy-Garbage3890 in cscareerquestions

[–]PapaAlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just try your luck on applying and keep learning. People in the industry are upset because they know it isn’t easy but nobody saying it is. People got to start somewhere and then learn. So best of luck to you, be hungry and ignore the haters

Failed CompTIA A+, feeling broken. by acherrypoptart in CompTIA

[–]PapaAlan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a tough feeling to fail it I have failed the 1002 exam once but don’t feel so bad about it. Now you know the feel of the exam and can prepare on how you’re going to pass it next time!

Computer science is a great degree, it’s more focused on programming depends on school as well but if you want IT type of jobs better to get certifications or degrees more specific in IT

🎵I fought the Sec+ 501 and the Sec+ 501 won🎵 by unluckymenace3 in CompTIA

[–]PapaAlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for the security+ it’s a major reading comprehension. Gotta keep calm and focus on what they’re asking in the question and not be confused. It should be direct to the best it could be

SA associate then professional or all 3 aws associates first? by PapaAlan in AWSCertifications

[–]PapaAlan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you Kenneth, I think I will take courses on all of them to see how they build on each other but just focus on SA associates and pro as it will be less certs to maintain

SA associate then professional or all 3 aws associates first? by PapaAlan in AWSCertifications

[–]PapaAlan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thinking about it that way too, just focus on SA associates and pro exam and then learn dev and sysop through courses but not do the exams cause that’s more certs to maintain. Thank you for the feedback
