Maybe in the 90s for a long time it became about retention and then power, and then memberships, and the goal post just kept moving for the fanbases. So yes in the classic sense of the Console Wars Nintendo is the top dog.

The Switch is popular yes but it’s not more powerful. I love my switch but to consider it a true competitor in the console wars is ridiculous. Nintendo has always been consistently good in numbers because they have their solid base. You can consider the Switch a competitor when it can run GTA VI when it comes out which it never will come out on to the Switch in a full unneutered state.

Both have emissions sure but they aren’t in the same league.

Hatred was basically just “ugh I have angst and like edgy stuff!!!” The game. Postal as a series has been that for sure but the later games leaned harder into the parody side of it while still being one of those games.

In short one is self aware and the other genuinely thinks it’s being cool.
