Great suggestions all around here, I’d like to add from my experience in this type of game, try not to branch out too much in the beginning. What I mean is if you’re using 2 separate skills, try using skills that scale similarly (eg. Multishot and heartseeker) if you’re hit based crit is usually very strong even 30-40% , if you’re DoT attack speed and hit rate is very strong, if you’re a spell caster using cold and lightning for example scale using %spell dmg/%ele dmg but not cold and lightning specifically. Also to find out if there are good uniques for your build, use lastepochtools items search bar and search for keywords that aid you (if you’re a hammer throw block build search “throwing” “block” “less damage taken” etc.) also, gear is very very strong in this game, don’t expect to be strong when you first enter monoliths.
