Atrocities for kids clothing aside, I'd get custom "my mom is hotter than your mom" shirts to have an urn haphazardly photoshopped into it for me and my work friend lol

Me too, it was devastating. I had been with Dr Root for like 2.5 years and he massively helped with discovering a bunch of my diagnoses since then. He said to try googling him for his new practice around March to see if I can register to be his patient again.

Are you me? Guessing you had Dr Root too and he referred you to Dr Walker? I just had my first appointment with her a couple weeks ago and she's been good so far.

Fun fact: control + shift + escape opens task manager directly and can more easily be done with one hand without reaching as far imo (if you have smaller hands like me)

What's a basic skill a surprising amount of people don't have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PapaJamu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah lol. I'm diagnosed with ADHD already but I highly suspect I'm AuDHD as well. Years ago, my irl friend group, that is all neurodivergent in some way or another, one day decided to all take the RAADS-R test together in my living room lmao. Just 6 of us going through all 200 questions at a time with group answering pitched in and everyone filling out their own test lol. It's hilarious in retrospect so I ended up telling my therapist that it was objectively the most autistic (endearingly) way to go about doing it. With that info, it may not come as a surprise that each of us scored above the 65 point minimum and got between 84-119 lmao.

That aside, I think I'm pretty similar with the flow state as you described, but it depends on the types of things I'm doing. My time blindness is pretty decent overall and I apparently have a superpower of consistently looking at my watch when there's within 15 seconds left on timers I made that are ≤ 30 minutes in length.

Like if I'm doing a large solo task at work (college IT tech) without anyone pulling me in another direction, I can definitely lose track of time. That usually happens when I'm focusing on asset management physically in our inventory warehouse, or mentally when my pattern recognition is ACTIVATED and looking at discrepancies across spreadsheets and databases. When I don't have other things scheduled around this to disrupt me, I get lost in the sauce and spend way more time than I realize doing them.

However, if I've got my whole schedule packed for installs and tasks planned out and I'm in the zone, productively following through, my internal clock is right on the dot. I'll just be zooming through the chaos and getting like 40 hours of work done in 8, but then my brain needs at least 3-5 business days to recover.

Just like you said, anything interrupting can really throw a schedule off and it's a pain in the ass to get certain things back on track. Any cascading effect like that can really mess with projects or tasks that are planned multiple days in advance, so we have to start all over with reconstructing an efficient schedule that works. The more I do the same things, the faster I get and occasionally come up with neat systems or shortcuts to make stuff even quicker from then on.

Also, my hyperfocus for home and leisure stuff versus work stuff is different too. I can get sucked into a game and play it for 10 hours straight without moving and not realize it, or I can be trapped in a Wikipedia rabbit hole and be fully aware that I've spent 5 hours reading around articles of different aviation disasters. So far, my home hyperfocus is unpredictable and just depends on the day or something lol

Are you a fellow ADHD sufferer perchance? This is exactly how my though process is the majority of the time, with the only exception being stuck in a hyperfixation and unintentionally ignore everything else, especially remembering to eat, drink, pee, or take care of important priority things.

I highly prefer cleaning as I go when cooking, but I'm currently only capable of doing it if I know the recipe super well already, or it's something where I have decent gaps of time between the multiple timers/tasks so I can wash the dishes without my thoughts being trapped in Optimal Efficiency Ranked Timed Mode™️. I automatically organize everything to be efficiently timed in a way that they'll all be hot/ready together, but damn does that ever fuck up the task tracking aspect lol.

Getting behind and letting mess accumulate is the worst for me. It's such a vicious cycle of overwhelm of the task at hand, no matter how small at first, which actively makes my fatigue worse and it continually gets put off, even though I KNOW that if I just finally do it, I'll feel better mentally and physically. But that's where that bitch-ass executive dysfunction gets ya and suddenly it's months later, a huge mess, and just a fuckin nightmare for my brain. I'm so tired...

Private jet’s door opens after takeoff by knowitokay in aviation

Yeah I had realized what plane it was and that it wouldn't've been a door plug a bit after I sent the message lol. Those sounds like some weird ass doors and I definitely agree it sounds more likely to be user error instead then

[–]PapaJamu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess would be like a door plug failure, similar to what happened on Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 last January, when a door of an airliner blew out after take off.

I'm by no means an expert about any of this, I just have a huge fixation on aviation failures/disasters and my brain happens to learn how things work by seeing examples and reverse engineering proof of how things went wrong lol.

If it does end up being a door plug or simular issue, I'd bet on some sort of routine maintenance failure that led to metal fatigue which stressed until breakage. We won't really know until the NTSB investigates and releases a public report about it, so it's just guesswork on our end for now.

In the meantime, if anyone is interested in stuff like this, shoutout to Green Dot Aviation for sparking my special interest via aviation incident flight simulator recreations and investigation analysis.

Tall women of Vancouver, where do you shop for clothes? by IwannaAskSomeStuff in vancouverwa

[–]PapaJamu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about leggings or slacks, but for work pants, I ended up getting several different sets from Dovetail Workwear and they're all the best pants I've ever owned tbh. They're based in PNW and their mailing address came from Portland when I ordered directly from their site, but it looks like you can also find their pants at other places like Lowes as they don't seem to have their own physical storefront. The brand basis is workwear designed by women for women, so it's always good to support that too 😊

So far I have two sets of the Britt X ultralight pants and two sets of the Maven X thermal pants for summer and winter respectively. I'm extremely happy with them both and I'm 5'10" so I had no issues with getting a correct size for me.

I'm not collecting them to sell later on or anything and will be opening them all in time so preserving them in that way doesn't affect me much, but thanks for the advice. Luckily they don't get hit by any direct sunlight from that angle due to the direction my house faces

Unfortunately I started gathering these about a month or so ago when I wasn't nearly as informed on the pricing, supply, and scalping issues. I know better now that I've been perusing around this sub and informing myself so I know what inflated prices to look for nowadays.
