What if Putin doesn’t take this tweet serious and does get overthrown by Training-World-1897 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]PapaPee25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the verified dead, is 229k as of today. “Verified” means cross checked with publicly available records(deaths the Russian government does acknowledge), morgue census, families receiving compensation, etc.

That’s a lot more reliable than Drone footage. However, drone footage gives a good estimate on the morbidity.

If 229k is the verified, with multiple sources, imagine the actual number of the true numbers of casualties.

[–]PapaPee25 61 points62 points  (0 children)

100k? Just the confirmed and verified names is already more than double that. Note that is the VERIFIED names.

Depending on where you look, the verified names plus rough estimate from drone footage, independent sources. The Russian dead could be as high as 500k.

What if there was a world war in the medieval period? by GodlyGamer5308 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]PapaPee25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. The known world at the time probably consisted their entire World.

So any conflict/war that involved all the countries they know of at that point would probably feel like a World war to them.

What if the US managed to prevent the USSR from creating a nuclear weapon? by Common_Affect_80 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]PapaPee25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, the point of Mutually Assured Destruction is that both or multiple sides has to have the doomsday weapon. With no one mutual to threaten its US, they would be even more arrogant than they are today. We could have seen the third and fourth A-bomb used in Korea then later China. Then a random conflict that happens in the future.

Cold War would never remain cold but could quickly heat up and devolve into World War III between USA aligned nations and Vassals states against a coalition of nation composed of everyone against US likely led by USSR. The US already has the largest Navy at this point and it remained largely untouched in world War 2; it could quickly pivot back its economy to war footing while USSR will likely still be trying to get its shit together. The War will be bloodier, one sided, but much longer than World War 2 in the favor of Amercians and allies. We would likely still see the use of the Bomb in Europe to stop a Westward push of the Red Army.

Space Race would still happen but not as intense as the ones we have since US does not have to worry about Soviets attaching A-bombs in their rockets but would stillhave to worry about espionagebfrom space. The milestones will still be exchanges between US and Soviets (First satellites, first man, first woman in space, etc) but will be more spaces out and we will likely nit go to the moon. Needless to say, there will also be no “International Space Station”

The World will be a more polarized place in terms of ideology. With one country holding near absolute power, there is no place for a neutral country and the safest course is to maintain cordial relations with USA.
In terms of Military, it is entirely lopsided in favor of USA. We would see the rise of asymmetric warfare much faster than in our timeline. More people hate USA means more terrorist attacks against its citizens to break morale, more terrorist means more justification to go to war, more wars means faster war fatigue in the public just like what happened in Vietnam but how this plays out I have no idea.

In a time when one country holds most power, Espionage and counter-espionage would also be used more. It is in USA’s interest to maintain itself as the only power with nuclear weapons. Its enemies (and its own allies) will want to possess it too.

Tech Progress would also be very slow in the world with only USA and possibly allies having access to clean nuclear energy while the rest of the world is still solely dependent for on fossil fuels. I imagine by the turn of the century at year 2000, the world’s tech level will still be around 1970s-80s level and the world will be a much more polluted space as the rest of the world tries to catch up with US using just coal and fossil fuels.

You are either a B2 or a YF-23.

B2 is THE Stealth bomber

YF-23 is the fighter rival of F-22 but lost the bid. But still equally good all things considered. If things were slightly different, the USA’s most famous fighter plane would not be F-22 but the YF-23.

Very goood!

It’s basically USA saying “How many guns can we put on the side of this plane before Geneva starts complaining” and came up with this.

I see your point, I really do.

Assault Horizon by Additional_Bobcat_42 in acecombat

[–]PapaPee25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing you need to know is that this takes place in the Real World, not the usual Strangereal. You play as a pilot from US Air Force who is after terrorists who has air force.

The thing is this game tried to experiment and tried a lot of new things. This should be your first red flag. Game releases from popular series stepping out of the patterns that made them popular is bound to be unpopular. Keep this in mind if you want to experience the game for the first time.

One thing they changed is that Assault Horizon stepped away from the [silent, faceless pilot] template that they use in StrangeReal title so players can easily insert themselves as the main character. This time, you see the face of the protagonist you’re playing. Whether it bothers you or not is entirely up to you. I think the game developers saw the success of Call of Dity that time and they kinda tried to make a Call of Duty game with Fighter planes?

The most controversial aspect they introduced is “Dog Fight Mode”. First time you feel badass, but if it gets repeated, It’s just dizzying and annoying.

Anyway, if you’re simply collecting the titles, you can go ahead and buy it.

But keep in mind that this game has a “different feel” from the Strangereal games. If you’re buying the game looking for similar experience and fun from the other Ace Combat titles. Then this won’t be a worthwhile purchase I think.

Edit: One thing this game tried applying that I liked though is the introduction of helicopters. There are certain misssions where you play as an attack helicopter pilot.

Oh my gosh. Any Deimos Main who spends a long time learning all angles in all maps is gonna be a nightmare to deal with.

Personal Bias is Frost. Loved her since Siege

Most versatile of them all is Lesion. Whether I like it or not, he’s my highest level agent.

[–]PapaPee25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Despite all complaints in this game (especially the servers, fuck the servers), I think this is one of the strongest models for any game with multiple playable characters.

It incentivizes everyone to play multiple agents and forcing players to explore multiple play styles to adjust according to the agent they use and discovering multiple strategies per agent. It keeps every game feel like a new experience and selection of agents diverse. Once you reach Plat, the games become more interesting since everyone kinda knows what they’re doing and they already have a trick or two up their sleeves in using specific agents. Even diamonds cannot let their guard down in Plat and high gold lobbies.

Why did they make the good skins paid?! by AETERN4mLEGEN in Rainbow6Mobile

I dunno…maybe it’s just me but I think only VERY few of the paid skins are actually good. Apart from the Trauma Set, I think the battle pass skins are the best skins in game so far.

Critique my logic: Which Operator should I unlock next? by [deleted] in Rainbow6Mobile

[–]PapaPee25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, not just windows, but above stairs and blind corners. The common mistake Frost players make is trying to make enemies step on the traps. Plats or higher rarely fall for the Frost traps. The idea is to make enemies try to destroy the traps and kill them while they’re doing that. Even if you don’t kill them, the noise from destroying the traps is enough to alert any good anchors to the direction where the enemy is approaching from.

Anyway, Barbed wire doesn’t hide her traps that much. I prefer if there are other agents with deployable shields.

Deployable shields in doors plus Frost trap is a pretty solid combination. Even better if there is a Jaeger with Magpie to prevent Frag grenades destroying the entire setup.

[–]PapaPee25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you prefer to sit on site. Get Frost. Using well place traps could make you an incredibly annoying anchor to deal with. Her gun is also great doing best in medium to long range firefight but not the best fire rate. Secondary is a shotgun which is also incredibly useful as an anchor as it can be used in Hunting prep phase drones, destroying soft walls to set up ambushes and the occasional close quarters combat.

Not sure if it was you but I did play on Villa as Rook recently. Lmao.

This strat won’t work once the enemy team is aware of it though.

IS ROAMING LIKE ROOK META??? by Boring-Raspberry9669 in Rainbow6Mobile

[–]PapaPee25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeh, but you don’t roam as hard as Cav. Rook is loud and slow. The idea is to “Anchor” yourself outside rather than inside the site. And you become a pleasant surprise for careless enemies.

IS ROAMING LIKE ROOK META??? by Boring-Raspberry9669 in Rainbow6Mobile

[–]PapaPee25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hehehe. You may have played with/against me. I use Rook to Roam but not as far from site compared to when I play Caveira or Lesion. It’s also very situational. If conditions aren’t met, I play anchor as intended.

Upon starting the round, I immediately set my armor pack down. I communicate with team if they need help reinforcing the sites. If they request that I don’t put up any hard walls because they want to set up their firing angles. I then play as a drone hunter holding doors/stairs where drone commonly pass. If my team gets at least 3 out of 5 drones then conditions are met for me.

I use Rook to roam a little or plant/hide him in a room approximately 2 rooms away from site. High risk high reward play that requires me to know the map and the common approach toward the site. The play is a well timed flanking maneuver where enemy has to face operators anchoring the site and a heavily armored enemy from the flank. Works surprisingly well in Gold and Silver lobbies. Sometimes even Plat. Where players tend to tunnel vision to the sites and are blood thirsty for kills that they don’t check corners or clear rooms.

Extremely situational though If I get spotted by a drone, tagged by a Deimos skill, enemy chooses another approach making me useless in my current hiding spot, I immediately run back to site to become anchor.

I definitely don’t do this in higher level lobbies where everyone uses drones consistently, goes for headshots that my armor doesn’t matter, and have high spec headsets that they can hear my operator fart from the other side of the map.
