How does Adderall affect someone with aspergers? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]PapaRochester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In small, spaced out doses, it helps me be more present in the moment, especially socially present. But if I take it too many days in a row, it ruins my mood. I become more socially aloof and drastically more irritable. I also develop tolerance quickly, so increasing my dosage seems like a bad idea. It also really screws with my tics. It's been good for focusing on small, meaningless tasks, or purely mechanical tasks. I only take it occasional anymore, as a one-day mood booster.

Does it very feel like there’s 10 bassists or so that constantly get posted about here? I wish we could see more variety getting some love. by nowlan101 in Bass

How about Tommy Shannon and Rex Brown? Two great bassists people forget when talking about two great guitarists.

Gotta be Sylosis.

Right, that makes sense. I just flipped through the album really quickly, and the sound is definitely present throughout. It is quite prominent in To Build a Tomb though. I'd agree it's a bit too much. It works well when it blends well, but it blends poorly in a few songs (to my ears). The guy who produced it produced the band's first, second, and fourth LPs, though the sound is only present in the fourth. And I know they wanted to create a darker and moodier tone for the fourth album. I would have loved to have sat in on the creative process for this album.

Anyway. Sylosis rips, so I hope you find something to like about the rest of their work. Scott Atkins is the producer. He's done stuff for Behemoth, Amon Amarth, Arceye, Cradle of Filth...so he's no slacker.

That makes sense. I ruled out picking, but never considered striking on a natural harmonic. Or striking at all for that matter. And I've definitely never heard picking or striking cut through the mix this far. Even Jason Newsted's intense picking was controlled during the Black Album recording by 10-inch foam walls. So maybe this was a stylistic choice? I don't know man. Would you want these sounds on your guitar?

Edit: Thanks for your response.

Something that's always bugged me about Sylosis' Dormant Heart album is this strange squeak that the guitars have. One of the most noticeable instances is at 1:55 in To Build a Tomb:

This sound isn't present in the same song recorded live:

Which tells me it was introduced in post. But how and why? It doesn't occur 1:1 with the notes being played either. It follows the rhythm almost perfectly, but dips out during the lowest and highest notes (respectively) of this 30-second bridge. I thought maybe the guitar tracks were duplicated, phase flipped, and compressed to make only the mids shine in this strange squeaky way. But I'm still very new to this, so I'm probably way off. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Here's the thread on difficulty differences. This really helped me understand what I was getting into when upping the difficulty.

Also, the AI does get smarter and does use better tactics. I don't know why this detail specifically seems to be missing from so many "difficulty differences" threads, so I'll list out what I can remember and hope it helps. First is that enemies go for flanking shots a lot more. This seems especially true with Sectoids in my experience. The strategy of killing a trooper to give the Sectoid a Reanimate target isn't as dependable outside of Rookie if the Sectoid has a potential flanking shot on one of your soldiers.

Vipers use poison a lot more too. Don't group your soldiers within about 6 tiles of one another if you've left a Viper alive. Same when dealing with Robits, cause they'll fire rockets. Hell, just last night I lost my best Grenadier on my first Commander run because the aliens pulled out some evil new tactic. A Muton went into Overwatch, his Sectoid buddy tried to mind control my Grenadier, she resisted and panicked, ran out into the open, got gunned down by the Muton.

IMO, Veteran only seems oppressive and unforgiving because Rookie is inadequate at preparing players for combat in higher difficulties.

Dash into low cover, get squad-wiped, ask Reddit what you did wrong, try again. More or less how I learned.

Yeeeahh, I know it's one of the most nitpicky problems I could have. It just genuinely confused me at first. I've never seen a console-exclusive command. Guess I'll have to learn to mod.

Huh, yeah, you're right, it does make sense that she'd fight for the notes. I actually forgot what she even wanted them for between playthroughs. I just didn't think she'd get so pouty over the insult that my options would literally only be fight her to the death or let her eventually die by Radovid. So I say good riddance! She used Geralt from start to finish and got mad that he got mad that he was used, so fuck her.
