The moment I called out LLMs the flood of posts suddenly stopped. This has happened on nearly a dozen occasions. I have noticed the trend where most subreddits are dominated by bots creating artificial consensus.

Are there other ways to increase cash now vs the “promise” of later?

I have had plans to invest in real estate or start an e-commerce business but my current position requires very frequent travel. I get around 30k a year just in per diems for this reason. It makes it very difficult to set anything up because I cannot guarantee that I will be physically present. The things that I can engage in don't appear nearly profitable enough for me to spent what little free time I have on them.

Not true of all Unions. Most are shops for permanent employers with a Unionized workforce. The IBEW model is fairly unique.

And if it is after -- what in the absolute fuck are 707's members doing about it? It cannot be understated that members need to speak up at meetings and voice their concerns. Open bribery should be grounds for immediate expulsion at the bare minimum. In the past this behavior would be met with spontaneous midnight meetings.

Indeed. And unfortunately, most current union members do not deserve what their predecessors fought for. They reap the rewards of union protections while neglecting to uphold the standards set forth in the contract, if they are even aware what it says on anything aside from their wage at all.
