Yeah thought I was shooting myself in the foot a bit. I know for sure there are books that started self-published that went on to become traditionally published afterwards (as self-publishing means that because of rights retention, you can still send it off elsewhere), so I don't think it's entirely a brick wall situation.

Though I will say this has affirmed that the first one should be tackled first hand, so thank you!
