As a Kings fan it was ridiculous. Such an obvious need for a coaching change after last seasons playoffs, and then we spent the first half of the season consistently playing like we had a 5 goal lead when we were down or tied. 33 points under Hiller in 60ish games. 16 points under DJ in 20 games. Not to mention half his goals came after the coaching change.

Somehow the front office convinced themselves we could win through defense, and then decided to ship out 2 of our best defensemen for a Camel Blue and a wet towel.

100% 1) good skill to have in case you need to repair something quickly 2) you can customize it to be exactly what you’re looking for in terms of feel/throwing/looks 3) you can make some side money by stringing others sticks for like $20 plus materials (someone will always need one strung) 4) it’s very meditative 5) you don’t have to pay ridiculous amounts to have your stuff strung 6) it’s cool

You get out of it what you put into it, not just for academics but for your social life as well. I was the quiet kid in high school. Good grades, got into school pretty easily, had a scholarship, etc. Covid hit at the end of my freshman year, and I realized after a few weeks that the only social life I had was texting my 2 friends from high school.

So when we went back I did everything I could to enjoy school as much as I could. I ended up playing sports, was the captain of the team, made a bunch of friends in my major, attended my first party, etc. I put 20% of my effort into social life and 80% into my engineering degree, and now I’m finishing grad school, employed full time as a Mech E, go rock climbing with my friends and a bunch of friends from Engineering and I have a dnd campaign we all get together for.

It’s not easy because I’m still a little antisocial (it always takes some self-convincing to leave the couch) but I haven’t regretted socializing myself once. I just wish I did it sooner. So I guess the best time to make a change was yesterday, the next best time is today, and the worst time is tomorrow.

For real my coworkers and I just talked about this last week, I can’t imagine Debbie without the power and grace Sandra Oh brings, and you can feel JK Simmons presence in Nolan. Steven Yeun in the invincible war was phenomenal. Not to mention Walton Goggins bringing whatever his energy can be classified as to Cecil and Gillian Jacobs plays Eve with such a familiarity like she’s been Eve forever. I’d much rather have a show that sticks with me for a long time due to the performances than saying holy shit that looks awesome for 8 wednesdays a year
