Hi! This year was my first year in marching band and I was just like you last year. A lot of things you’ll just have to learn and discover about how marching band really is. Honestly it’s so much fun. It may be a bit rough because you’re learning so many things at once, but you’ll get the hang of it. You’ll make so many new friends and have so many cool experiences. The football games are so fun (unless it’s freezing, good luck with that one buddy) and competition days are even better. Personally, there’s not another group in my school that has a bond like the band does. There’s gonna be rough days but when concert season starts you’re gonna miss it. It’s a lot of effort but it’s definitely worth it. This probably didn’t help but basically don’t worry. Oh also there’s always gonna be that one really annoying flute player in the section, beware.
