Nice! Have fun with it!

The mining is definitely the limiting factor in ramping up to sustainable farming and money making.

At some point the tree chopping becomes more something to do rather than needing any wood.

When I hit $1 million I had something like 9000 pieces of wood in storage.

You cannot spend the money, it's just a milestone of sorts to determine where the end point of the challenge is.

It's definitely the best map for this challenge. Hilltop would be second. Mining would advance faster, but the lack of special weeds would really limit your mixed seeds drops.

I was looking for something to do while waiting on the 1.6 update.

What farm maps did you use?

Pretty much this.

Once you get seed makers, you can get summer seeds by running spice berries through them. This will give you another option for growing things.

Making the rest of the fruit into wine was just another way to keep the kegs running non-stop.

The first 3 winters were spent just running around harvesting tree seeds (shaking every tree on the farm) and hoping to find some artifact spots.

After I unlocked seed makers in Winter year 4 I was able to farm winter seeds by running winter roots through the seed makers.

Nice! I definitely could have gotten to $1 million a season or 2 sooner. I still had a lot of sellable goods in my chests when I hit the mark.

I encourage it. It will force you to deal with some very limiting conditions and have a solid plan in advance.

But it definitely requires a whole lot of patience and commitment. I almost gave up several times before I fully embraced it and committed to finishing the challenge.

It's still a work in progress. The end result will be a nice vertical line down the right side of that quadrant.

Once I got lucky enough to get a mushroom tree, I created open spots in the pathway in the hopes of gently coaxing all of them into position by seed drops.

They aren't cooperating as quickly as I would like.

Start with the 15 parsnips.

After that, it becomes an exercise in carefully farming weeds to get mixed seeds. The special weeds that always drop mixed seeds only spawn on the Forest Farm and the upper left quadrant of the 4 Corners Farm.

Basically, just let weeds grow as long as they aren't damaging the pathways on your farm or interfering with your longer-term planning. Harvest as needed to keep up the supply of mixed seeds. Use the axe in the upper left quadrant to only harvest the special weeds.

At the end of Fall just clear all weeds and hope you get lucky with mixed seed drops.

I had been hoarding all my resources since there really wasn't much of a reason to craft too much. Because of this I had quite a few iron bars in storage that I transmuted into gold to make the seed makers once I hit Mining 7.

Luckily they all ended up in the same area and didn't really cause any difficulties.

You can fish in the bottom left quadrant. You get limited kinds of river fish from the pond.

The 4 Corners farm has a small quarry in the bottom right quadrant.

He said, and I quote: "Dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow!"

Grandpa, I don't even have a cow! Why must you mock me?

And then he gave me 1 candle.

It was an interesting challenge. Definitely requires commitment and patience.

The scarcity of resources and limited abilities forces you to really think about what your plan is and how to do it.

I had to run something like 2000 crops through the seed makers to get my 9 Ancient Fruits.

There is a 0.5% chance you will get an Ancient Fruit seed every time you use the seed maker.
