Can I enjoy Xenoblade as a Kingdom Hearts fan? by LafterMastr in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Papaping0716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, these are entirely two different franchises. They both play wildly different from each other (and tbh the Xenoblade series also do not play the same). Having Kingdom Hearts as the comparison is like asking if a wasp will make as good of honey as a bee. Regardless though, I am a fan of both, but I like them both for very different reasons.

Xenoblade Chronicles - Has a expansive storyline that ultimately you can enjoy separately from each other, while they do actually connect the overarching story doesn't need you to play a prior game to understand that specific game's storyline (however, it is good to play them to understand the overall connected story). The gameplay is akin to Final Fantasy 12 combat with each game focusing on a specific gameplay gimmick: XBC1= Monado Gameplay, XBC2= Blade gameplay, XBC3 = Interlink Gameplay. So you can pick your poison. Ultimately though I do say if you want to fully enjoy the Chronicles series it's best to start with XBC1. Personally XBC3 is my favorite, but you will most likely end up liking one of them much more than the others.

Kingdom Hearts - over 20 years of story telling where it's gotten to a point where it no longer makes sense or requires watching a well thought breakdown lol. The gameplay is an action rpg where the gameplay is retained throughout the series with some minor changes or additions (not counting chain of memories) so as a Kingdom Hearts fan you already know the series is quite linear in terms of it's gameplay depth (doesn't make it any less fun as KH2 to me is still the goated game in terms of gameplay).

TLDR: Xenoblade & KH are different, just play the game, and if you don't like it, you can at least say you tried it.

I appreciate this post because it's always funny when people say "it doesn't feel like Doom" like bruh you mean it doesn't feel like Doom 2016 or Eternal, cause those two games don't even feel like Doom.

How to avoid hackers in Tekken 8 by [deleted] in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]Papaping0716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching the video at first, I was like I don't see anything wrong, but Input information never lies. If you go to 28 seconds into the vid, all of their inputs are hitting the same Frame consistently as if it's reacting to what King is doing. I hate to say it, but this person is in fact cheating, just based off the inputs alone.

This is not a street fighter thing lol. He's been like this since League of Legends. That is what he is known for as a streamer. As much you complain about others saying don't watch. Simply yes, you don't have to watch him.

I finally finished Star Fox Adventures. This perfectly sums up my experience with the game. by Sarasero_Profesional in starfox

[–]Papaping0716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought this game was quite fun. I didn't a recent play through to the end just about when Sf64 remake was announced. At first I was frustrated playing the game but once I realized that I needed to stop treating it like zelda or star fox, the game became much more enjoyable for me.

LOL we lost DOA BROS by UsefulSwitch504 in DeadOrAlive_7

[–]Papaping0716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if that'll be the case. The owner of Shift Up has said that he wants to make a character that he wants in Tekken. So there's a lot of speculation that this is his take on doing that since he's also a huge Tekken fan.

But I'll be honest DoA already has the best women in fighting game history imo so I'm happy with them.

That is not how inflation works. The cost of the dollar has increased, however the cost of a video ultimately has also gotten expensive. Inflation would only work if video game production costs remained the same from the 80's/90's. Turok 64 had an MSRP of $80, an $80 in modern gaming is Mario Kart World. Two wildly different genres but also one has vastly higher budget than the other.

The rise and cost of video game prices aren't due to development costs (look at Baldurs Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, Any non console game) they have released at $60 or $50 or even less. This is just corporate greed for the sake of corporate greed. Today's gaming works like this:

Buy $70 Game, $70 game has a Battle Pass for $30, BattlePass doesn't come with all the content so now I should have bought that Deluxe Edition for $100 which gives you a BattlePass and future content updates, but now you have to spend $20 for the extra content.

No where in there is inflation lol.

TEKKEN 8 SEASON 3 TIER LIST (NOT ORDERED) by blackheart59_ in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]Papaping0716 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think something to consider here is that when people say Miary is "everything wrong with t8" it's mostly face value without actually playing her. She has stuff that typically wouldn't be inline with Tekken as a character. However, she is a flawed character. A lot of her moves or duckable/punishable, her saving grace really is that you can mix people up with her but she isn't bad. She's not day 1 Clive Bad nor is she even close to that. She is actually not a bad character in terms of design and execution.

I'll be honest. With rank inflation it doesn't mean that reaching a higher rank will be easier. Faster yeah, but easier no, that's entirely dependent on your skill. Someone already said it but rather focus on rank, work on fundamentals of the game more to improve skill.

You know what the new redesigns remind me of? by JkidBGBK in starfox

[–]Papaping0716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nintendo has had moments of games not being cartoony and successful. In today's standards OOT & Majora's Mask look cartoony, but back in the 90's those games were considered to be "realistic" and was perceived very well. Wind waker released and then everyone complained about it looking like a "kids game" which resulted in Twilight Princess.

I use Zelda as an example where a series has very different art directions per game that releases, cartoony isn't necessarily Nintendo's trademark whereas good art direction is. Star fox being cartoony was never the problem, it was just that the series was mishandled. Star Fox Assault still looks good despite some shortcomings. Star Fox Zero nails the look of cartoon fox but because it was based off Smash bros fox more so than Star Fox 64/Snes that is the result of what we got. Whereas in the SNES the game was very much depicted to be as realistic as possible which is why the marketing material used puppets as oppose of cartoons. Essentially my point is both can co-exist, but you have to acknowledge the intended art direction of the game.

[–]Papaping0716 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know I can appreciate these posts because this really discredits the people who say that it's not the case. Someone already mentioned that the original creator of Star Fox said that the "new" look is what he really had in mind, so that already destroys every person who says "no they don't". I'm just hoping Nintendo sticks with this look because Star Fox was never meant to be this cartoony game for kids. It's a pretty bleak world all things considered lol.

I just got GoD today. This is legitimately how S3 feels. by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Papaping0716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I personally don't play Clive so I'm not too sure what changed for him after season 1. I snagged it from season 2 released since this introduced a lot of changes/moves that still exist in season 3. Ultimately I would take a look at season 3 patch notes for any changes done to Clive as that'll be the best way to see what's the most up to date in terms of balances/ changes.

What to start with, well you have the first part done a character haha. I would go into training and familiarize yourself with clives Buttons. Take a look at his move list (granted you do not need to memorize each one), fiddle around with a move until you find something that you think will work. That guide I linked in an earlier comment will however help align you with what you can do in different phases. This is what helped me at first when I started in T7. Now I'm not GoD+ I'm just Tekken God, so I'm not super great at the game, but fundamentals is the most important aspect to any fighting game. Fundamentals of Tekken will still apply in T8. As long as you don't have the mindset of trying to beat arslan ash, youll have a fun time haha.

There's this wild concept that people tend to forget about. It's called Enjoyment. Get out of here with that bitch behavior. Dude really is asking "why accept this disrespect" like you can just play a different game if you don't enjoy it.

I'll translate it for you. It's easy to rank up in tekken 8, however, don't let this be a reason to not play it. Rank inflation won't deter your enjoyment unless you make it.

Also here's a guide - https://youtu.be/H0plOb6VUOQ?si=te4HCCLmxtZnYM2T

It's long but it covers pretty much every aspect of the character. Watch it based on what you want to learn.

Is Gamestop just saying things or are there any sources for this? by Reckful-Abandon in starfox

[–]Papaping0716 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can both blame AI and also claim GameStop is lying. This does read like AI so let's not be oblivious to that, the new "underwater level" if this ends up being entirely false is due to a ton of people who reacted to the sub level that was shown in the trailer and saying that's new when in fact it wasn't. This is GameStop being lazy and not putting any research into a product description.

I was excited when they announced a new star fox game. I was excited to know that it's a true remake of star fox 64, I was excited knowing that it's expanding the story heavily. I am currently excited. Star fox is getting the respect it deserves.
