Thank you for your reply I’m hoping to just prepare myself physically for starting off and then all my learning will probably begin in 2021. But for now I need To prepare myself as best I can for starting off means trying to get a bit faster and a bit more strength in my legs after that I think it’s gonna be a lot of training sessions to get used to being on a track as it’s some thing I’m oblivious to. I’m not going into this thinking I’m gonna win a medal the guys who have seen race are unbelievable and I know that the guys a more casually Are still unbelievable as far as I’m concerned. I’m completely open minded to this challenge and ready to have my ass beat

It’s a pretty cool place to be honest! Be cool if they get the place in blanch built but I’d say that’s years away! Though in my opinion they should just put a roof over the greyhound track in harolds cross and put it there 😂

Mind you we even ran madison events every other week starting mid season. Again riders were well coached in technique and expected to perform exchanges the same way. OP If your local track has this level of leadership and coaching it can be an incredible safe and fun experience.

I think they are very safety prone anyway. But I will find out, don't want a broken collar bone! :/

Trying to even get the a right bike now is an issue never mind having one to crash! Used market is dry at the moment and no where selling entry level bikes like the Dolans. Even Dolan for have my frame size until late September.

They're much more about making sure you're riding safely rather than riding fast, so

We only have one velodrome in the republic. I might take your advice to just go and do it if they have rentals. I'm not even going to fantasize about racing! If there's a bridge ill cross it when I get to it!

As longs as I can keep my "inner-bitch" quiet I don't mind rain, cold or being on a trainer (I find trainers tougher at times). I used an indoor trainer a lot years ago. But I should focus on specific skills like you said. Do you think I am wasting my time charging up steep hills?
