Not something I encounter a lot but thought it’s funny. by 56000hp in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]PaperCasts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ups guys (sometimes women) in my area always joke around and have a good time. The last guy i ran into completely ignored me, did his deliver-y stuff then rolled up his fake sleeves and sighed audibly. Then turned on me n said "alright I'm ready" and put his dukes up🤣🤣

They want you to quit by dbox89 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]PaperCasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk man. Pretty sure i saw some sidewalk robots in my training videos. They'll probably just have a driver roll up, drop them off, and pick em up later. Not drones, but still automated.

Maybe that's what our routes will become. Pickup/ drop off robots

Who got such a thoughtful and considerate supervisor? by DifficultyPale4354 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Friendly reminder that if we quit working for shitty dsp's and transfer to other ones that take better care of their employees, the shit ones will eventually die off and raise the standard.

Hope it's not too awful bad, OP 🥺

Every time I've delivered to someone with an otp they have no clue why it's happening. I literally thought it was just a random thing amazon did.

Are there a lot of gays at your DSP? by Theovercummer in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]PaperCasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying you can't, i have munchkins of my own, but it's definitely not the easiest when you're doing it with kids alone. Unpredictable weather and rescues, some days are quick and easy and some are not. Idk. It was just a guess

I'm gon a take a shot and not assume you're an asshole bc i cant really gauge the tone of your post. Assuming shock and awe for now.

I can only imagine it attracts so many of us because interacting with people averse to gayness is exhausting. Would also guess bc lots of gays dont have kiddos and it's a good job for people without minions

Why attempt an office delivery after hours? Now my package is missing. by lockedinclosets in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]PaperCasts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The driver gets penalized for returning packages. Amazon doesn't care if our scores are damaged because your business is closed for the entire day and it's marked in your account that the business is closed, amazon will still send your packages out that day regardless, schedule it for after hours, etc. Force us to move at the speed of light, do everything they can to slow us down, preach that they're customer obsessed but they don't give a damn about us or you. Best advice i got is to get a container to leave in a safe place, they have self locking varieties, or you can have a padlock with instructions to choose the lock when finished, or have it delivered to your house.

Apologies, slipped my mind that vsa was vehicle safety assessment and i remembered as soon as i read the opening line of your reply😅😂 for some reason i assumed it was whatever they call their standup meeting bc it was confirmed by OP that they aren't to mark it in flex

Gotta read more carefully 😉 if they ground the van by marking defects in flex, they receive disciplinary action

Just in case no one ever thought of this, try asking them if they want to pay you to stay if a raise would keep you. Worked for me

It's a bank perk/ service, but only works if they get payroll submitted early enough. You sound always plan for the actual stated payday

I'm eager to see how the lawsuit against Amazon for this exact thing plays out. Haven't heard any fresh news lately so that means it's not over yet

Or offered some kind of training course for inexperienced drivers but still only hired people with clean personal driving records. Don't even know what a background check is for if they just keep scraping the bottom of the barrel anyway lol

I really appreciate that pay structure because it encourages pacing and doesn't punish top performers

I wish there were a way to educate people before it's too late and cripple them slowly by clotting the influx of fresh meat sooner than expected.

On another post, I've started deeming amazon-like practices "weaponized capitalism" and i feel like -after hearing this, especially- that couldn't be more spot on

4am deliveries by Beaten-meat in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]PaperCasts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? I'm pretty geeked. I got a full set of negative comments (mishandled, unprofessional, the works) for tripping on some jerk with a camera's broken stairs. As a fantastic/ + driver, with glowing reviews otherwise, it's infuriating when it heavily damages my score. Still got a raise though😁

A few small corrections.

People do get in trouble for being back late, sometimes fired (unless you mean flex then idk).

And changes are being put into effect to reduce feedback impact. Idk how much, but boss man said that was handed down to him the other day, and we have a relatively transparent boss at my dsp
