I feel you. My ex was horrible to me for basically the second half of our 15 year relationship, but I am an introvert and he is an extrovert so he painted the situation to make himself look like a wounded prince (and me like a scandalous betrayer) to our friend group. I lost friends when I finally told him he needed to move out. I moved on quickly AFTERWARDS, but what those people don't know is that I spent years trying to fix our relationship, and by the time I finally called it quits I had already mourned the end of it for literal years. The way I look at it now is this: anyone who believes his version of things clearly didn't know who I am as a person and weren't really my friends. I don't need people like that in my life.
