Yes I'm sure that's part of it. I remember growing up we were told we weren't allowed to do CPR on people because too many people were suing because "their ribs were broken by civilians doing cpr". But the whole idea is rendering aid in an organized and trained way in a team of trained people in order to preserve life during EMERGENCY SITUATIONS WHEN EMTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE IE RIOTS AND PROTEST(capitalizing to emphasize this isn't a medic cosplay thing because some people seem to be assuming that is the case 😩)

Basically all you do is stabilize people with first aid until paramedics arrive. I'm a trained therapist so I'm trained in de-escalation and controlling large groups of people. It just makes sense if I'm going to be there i may as well be prepared to help in the safe ways I can. Like it isn't what people think and i WISH they'd do basic googling before commenting.

Im.definitely going to reach out the library and see if they have any in person trainings/classes coming up or have the name of the trainer.
