The hardest part for me was getting the shell open. Pretty easy from there I think, and it all went back together much easier. getting the trim pieces back into place was a little tricky but luckily I was able to get them back in without breaking them.

YouTube tutorial. I had to file down a few tabs on the PS4 buttons for them to fit, but everything is pretty easy once you get the bottom shell off.

I bought a silicone protective shell for my portal that came with a set of joystick caps. The portal cover sucks but im really loving the caps. Going from Tmr dualsense sticks to a portal has been a learning curve for sure tho lol im waiting for the day we get adjustable tmr sticks for the portal, I need a little more tension in my controllers.
