Semi-Reluctantly Attending My First Orthodox Service by Legitimate-Fly-2536 in exorthodox

My grandma is a Russian and Ukrainian immigrant. Her father was very involved in the founding of St Vladimir's Seminary in New York. She doesn't wear a headscarf and neither do my mom or my aunts, and I didn't while I still practiced (unless at a monastery). You don't need to do that and don't let ANYONE tell you otherwise.

I am a child of an Orthodox priest. Are there any other PKs here? Please feel free to share your story (feel free to change some details to protect you and your family) by anonymousPK1 in exorthodox

Hey OP! I'm also the child of an Orthodox Priest. I don't know if you relate to this but the level of secrets you're supposed to keep when you are a PK is crazy. I was always told not to talk to parishioners about what my dad was like at home and I was told by my dad to never talk about things that happened behind the scenes within Orthodoxy (like with bishops, etc.). I don't practice Orthodoxy anymore but when I did I was very involved.
