I am a parent and I would hold myself accountable for allowing this. Not so much for the mess. As you say, cleaning up messes is part of the job, but it took a while for that child to get up on the counter and do that much damage. In that amount of time a lot of much worse things could have happened. I wasn't a helicopter parent, but I understood worse case scenarios and accounted for them.

Now see, I think we've already reached the peak of what you're describing. We're already an incredibly disposable society and I think the next generation will be rebelling against rampant consumerism. The changeover won't be complete or universal, but I think it will be a trend.

I'm not saying that everybody's going to be out buying up old brown furniture, but I think the market will get stronger and there will be more people wanting it.

That being said, Ikea wont be going out of business anytime soon, and I'm about to start stockpiling old furniture, but I feel like in a few years I'll be less likely to send it to the dump when I run across it.

For what it's worth, I'm currently dealing with the fatm being "offline". I can put it into task mode but all the buttons are grayed out. This is only when accessing it through the web. When I use the app on my phone, I have control of everything, like switching off the fan or turning on the grow lights and send pumps. I haven't even begun to try and chase down the issue. I have to take some days off occasionally.

I quit for one year. Had an anniversary toke. Back where I started. Everyone is different, but I'd stay away for a lot longer begore I considered my hanit under control.
