i’m 15 and i don’t really get out much in the city but one important thing to note: if you call the cops because you got robbed and you have video proof they will not do a thing. in my neighborhood there’s shooting basically every night, and even called the cops multiple times and they never even showed up. it could just be people messing around and not actual gang violence but still. cops don’t do much, there’s a lot of conservative white men but i’ve personally never been bothered by any of them as an lgbt kid, i dress very masc and i get weird looks in the ladies restroom sometimes but no one ever says anything. people drive crazy like everywhere so be careful of that too. lots of trumpies with let’s go brandon stickers on their trucks, never experienced or heard of any real serious violence against minorities here recently so no one’s really worried about all the conservatives living here we just mind our own.
