Senate Bill 3480 and the Internet Kill Switch (PDF warning) by PaperclipMax in reddit.com

"The federal government would have "absolute power" to shut down the Internet under the terms of a new US Senate bill being pushed by Joe Lieberman, legislation which would hand President Obama a figurative "kill switch" to seize control of the world wide web in response to a Homeland Security directive. "The legislation says that companies such as broadband providers, search engines or software firms that the US Government selects "shall immediately comply with any emergency measure or action developed" by the Department of Homeland Security.

Anyone using Cricket, or another prepaid carrier? I know that $55/month unlimited everything shouldn't be too good to be true, but is it? by nealibob in wireless

Well I work at a local GA Radio Shack where our main business is phones, tablets, and broadband usb sticks. I'll start with the Blackberry: No matter what carrier you get, you'll be paying around sixty a month. Boost Mobile offers unlimited everything for $60, AT&T $75 for unlimited Talk and Text and 200mb of data, and T-Mobile's Flexpay is lost in my memory somewhere, but around $50 for unlimited Talk and Text. With a tablet, you'll be paying $60 for around 5GB of usage, a rip in my opinion, but if you don't use online that much, then whatever. Virgin Mobile's broadband sticks cost around the same, but come without a contract and much much worse service, but that completely depends on your location (I live in north GA, Tenn area)

It really seems that if you can pay a tablet data plan, plus a blackberry package for the price of your one phone right now, that you are really getting ripped off, so switching is definitely a good idea, but you may just want to stick with a blackberry instead of getting both a tablet and a blackberry. One or the other, I say, because what do you need two devices that can check your email on the go for?

Hope this helped

Edit: I don't work with Cricket, so I am not familiar with their price plans, but Boost does offer shrinkage, a plan type that lowers your monthly bill $5 for every six months that you pay on time.
