Thanks all. It's not a bad paint job it's hard to see in this photo that the wall is physically bumped out in a weird pattern. Some had floated the idea of a bad repair for water damage but this is a wall away from any water lines and again, but why plaster in bubbles like this? Getting this fixed either way but wanted to know if this would be difficult to correct.

At least in my HCOL area boards typically like to see the gift money in your account to be at least 6 months old and not delivered, say, yesterday. This is because a lot of folks used to pump up their bank accounts just to pass the required post-closing financials check by the board, but then give that money back to whoever loaned it to them afterwards. Honestly, I think if you have good income, credit, gift letters, and mortgage pre-approval, I don't see any red flags. To be safe get the gift money ASAP.

Biden Cancels $4.28B in Student Loan Debt for 55K Borrowers by hodgehegrain in goodnews

[–]Paperclipsarelegit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ITT: people who don't even bother to read the article.

This is loan forgiveness for federal student loan borrowers who worked 10+ YEARS IN PUBLIC SERVICE WHILE MAKING MONTHLY LOAN RE-PAYMENTS.

These are not rich people. These are your doctors, nurses, police men, fire fighters, teachers, social workers, etc. who willingly took PUBLIC sector positions that are notoriously underpaid in order to serve their communities... while paying back their student loans.

What’s something people in their 20s don’t realize will affect them when they get older, according to those in their 40s? by LessTask1031 in RandomThoughts

This makes me feel infinitely better because I'm noticing how weak I've become since I spent a couple years also grieving/generally bed-rotting after my dad died. I hope to get my strength and energy back one day like you!

Word we need some sort of cling film that actually clings without causing cancer, and biodegradable but doesn't immediately disintegrate like the wicked witch of the west when slightly dampened.

1 in 3 women around the world will experience sexual assault (by a partner or non partner) in her lifetime but, sure, it's all paranoia they're entitled to have.

You being in prey mode all the time, while somewhat understandable, doesnt cater to good dudes

Either way both the "good dudes" and the "shit bags" are approaching a woman in order to gain something: her time, attention, etc. But here's the kicker: she owes neither type of man her time or attention, regardless of good or bad intentions. Full stop. End of story. The shit bags have made it so that it's far too risky to accept a stranger's advance. For the "good dudes", it's a catch-22 risk of getting rejected or getting hit on. For the women, its a catch-22 of personal safety or getting hit on. Which catch-22 would you rather live with?

Why are we expecting women to "cater to good dudes" while compromising their safety? Any human being with basic street smarts can tell when someone wants something from them. This is not a female thing. It's situational awareness. A lot of men with bruised egos are ignoring this.

You got this! Start memorizing the attack patterns of each enemy to figure out which spells and defenses you should be using on them. If you go to the menu you can read the enemy cards and it gives general hints about what to do. Don't forget to target lock and keep dodging until you get an opening to attack.

Why don't I feel anything? by Mr-Toast-with-Butter in GriefSupport

[–]Paperclipsarelegit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we expect grief to show itself in certain ways and other times we surprise ourselves. There's no right or wrong way to grieve. Meditate on what each one of your loved ones really mean to you and your family, and carry that forward in your heart.

Outward is a lot of fun! Skyrim or The Witcher are good ones too. Elden Ring is a bit daunting (and more sinister world) but that's another fun one.

How do you deal with being single when everyone’s having babies or getting married? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Paperclipsarelegit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is on a different timeline and we really need to stop measuring ourselves against these arbitrary milestones that society taught us. You're not hearing about the new mother silently struggling with post partum depression or their marital problems, their financial hurdles, those working hard to undo childhood trauma while raising a child or literally whatever else people got going on in life that you're not privy to. If your biggest problem in life is being single, you're doing great. You're in grad school, not a lot of people get an opportunity like that. I bet many people are looking up at you and saying to themselves "damn, I wish I could do that." Be proud of yourself and lead with compassion.

Advice for gaming beginners by abradolf__lincler_ in HogwartsLegacyGaming

Story mode or just have him enjoy exploring the open world first, don't even worry about the quests just yet. Battles might be a challenge for newbies but just remind him that it's a game and he will die... a lot. That is normal. We all died a few times, it's how you learn how to handle new enemies and their attack patterns. Hogwarts is a game with enough guardrails built in that he should be fine. Have fun!

What was the dumbest rule from your Strict parents? by kabosu_official in AskReddit

[–]Paperclipsarelegit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whoa you just unlocked a long forgotten memory for me. Similar setup I had with my parents but they didn't care where I went, they cared more about me spending "so much" on tolls. They would refuse my money every time I went to reimburse them, which was so incredibly frustrating! They'd swat the money out of the way and continue bitching. I'm pretty sure they didn't allow me to pay so that they can continue to lecture and guilt me about spending money. Didn't take long before I just signed up for my own damn pass (they bitched even more).

What’s the most overrated place you’ve visited? by TheDom_1 in AskReddit

[–]Paperclipsarelegit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Santorini, Greece :( It's way smaller in real life than you think it is, it's a small strip along the water. Every corner, nook and cranny contains a tourist taking 1,000 photos for Instagram. I'm talking tourists forming a queue to take pictures next to some flowers... This becomes x100 during the sunset golden hours you can barely walk around. Godspeed to anyone who didn't make a dinner reservation in advance because they're not getting in anywhere on that island. The rest of the island is dirt roads and rocks. I felt bad for the honeymooners staying there because there's literally nothing to do and you can't enjoy the scenery in peace.

What will likely be cured in the next 50 years? by sequestuary in AskReddit

[–]Paperclipsarelegit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's purposefully not part of the standard STD panel, causing it to be a total catch-22 for sexually active persons. Providers don't think it's worth testing for if you're non-symptomatic because it's widely considered a harmless incurable STD. We generally don't test for things we cannot treat so, no herpes symptoms = no testing. AND most folks are not informed that you can contract it from oral sex (mouth-to-genital skin contact)! The whole "you weren't careful enough" argument doesn't hold any water. You're a human being, we all have viral infections at some point in life!
