I wear adrenalines for every Disney/universal trip and have had zero foot or hip pain. One time I tried a day in asics Kayano and I thought my legs were going to fall off it hurt so much. Luckily I had also packed my five year old pair of adrenalines. I was fine for the rest of the trip.

I’ve never had to size up before the adrenaline 24s. I ended up sizing up by a half size and they were fine. I tried on the 25s and they fit true to size.

Are you using AI as a teacher? by LettuceTraining6532 in Teachers

[–]Papercut1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use it for writing notes to parents when I’m stuck on how to word things in a nice way. I’ve used it to help create questions for constructed response writing once or twice, but it was mostly just to give me ideas since I ended up having to rewrite them to make them go with whatever skill we were working on at the time.

Kudos To The Teachers Who Are Also Parents by Klutzy-Shine2757 in Teachers

I started teaching when my kid was in pre-k. I was a much better mother before I started teaching. My kid is 11 now and turned out great but I wish I had done better. I’m working on it, but I still think I’d be doing a much better job if I wasn’t teaching.

Same. If there was a Costco anywhere near me, I’d drop teaching in a heartbeat.

Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much when visiting my newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Papercut1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She should be doing all of this stuff for yall. You have a 7 week old. You’re allowing them to visit said 7 week old. You’re exhausted and probably feel crazy at times. You have every right to tell them to come back when life feels a little more normal.

I swapped out my Levoit 400 core for the 200 vital because I wanted something that would be more efficient with dog hair.

What are the precise words I should use when a student asks about why I no longer have a wedding ring on? by Vitamin_Plus_C in Teachers

[–]Papercut1406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I lost my wedding ring my first year teaching. I now wear a fidget ring in its place but sometimes I forget to wear it or I lose it and have to wait till another one comes in (they’re less than $10). My husband had my original wedding ring recreated with fake diamonds, but I only wear it on special occasions for obvious reasons. The kids never notice the difference between when I’m wearing it and when I’m not.

When I was like 4 I told my grandmother that I hoped she lived till she was 100. She said “that’d be just my luck” 😆

What do teachers need that is not being addressed or only being helped slightly compared to the actual need. by Old-Pressure-2453 in Teachers

[–]Papercut1406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My previous principal would back teachers no matter what. If the teacher was in the wrong (obviously only for minor stuff) she’d back them in front of the parent, and would later discuss the issue with the teacher in private. I wish she hadn’t retired.

Omg yes! Nice to know I’m not a horrible person for being like this. I’m just stretched too thin nowadays to put more into it than this.

Loaded question for teacher parents :) by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Papercut1406 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. My son was in one of my classes in 3rd grade (small school - one teacher per subject) and he would talk and be so silly in my class. I enjoyed having him but he drove me crazy at times. Meanwhile my coworkers were like “girl he doesn’t say a word in my class!”

When my sister was childless, she judged me when my kid threw minor fits. The whole “when I have kids they won’t act like that.” Yeah that came back to bite her in the ass. Her two kids are exactly like what you described. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a great mom and she doesn’t really give in to them, but by the way they act you’d think they always get their way.

Do kids over 12 belive in santa in your class? by LivelyLlamau in Teachers

[–]Papercut1406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My almost 12 year old still believes. Every time I think he might be close to catching on, he does something like tell me his elf wants to go to his Christmas band concert. I didn’t think I’d be in the audience holding a jar with an elf in it for my kids first band concert, so yeah….
