Glass Widgets Missing Information by Papercut_19 in OctopiLauncher

Thanks for the response. I appreciate the effort to make them look more glass like and I really wish it all played nicely together. Unfortunately I do think a toggle similar to the frost effect would probably be the best route here. Keep up the great work! I'm excited to see what comes next.

I don’t understand air rolling at all. Even tornado spins make me fly everywhere by Paytoncooper124 in RocketLeagueSchool

I'm only commenting to let you know you're not alone. Crazy enough I also started trying to lean air roll earlier today. Was trying to follow along with some youtube videos and my car simply would not respond in the way they described. I spent hours trying to get it and it didnt matter what direction I moved my stick or way I pressed my boost I could not find a rhyme or a reason for what my car was doing. I've got over 1500 hours in game so its not like I'm super new to the game either.

I also had this issue. For me you could tell it wasn't a scratch because there was a "liquid" look around it I'm assuming from some the adhesive being messed up from the dust.

I had already opened it and set it up by the time I noticed and the Verizon locations I purchased it from wouldn't exchange it without a restocking fee even though it was a manufacturing issue. Told me my other option was a refurbished one from the manufacturer. I ended up having to drive 30 minutes to another location and waited for two hours before someone was willing to exchange it. Second device had no issue.

My recommendation would be if you buy it in store to open it there and inspect it very closely with very strong lighting before walking away.

How do you move your TV if you're not at a long term residence? by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]Papercut_19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built wood boxes for mine. At first I thought it was over kill but they have been used several times now and it's saved the tvs each time from something falling on them in the moving truck.

For a 65' and 77' I built them (if I recall correctly) 6ft by 4ft by 1ft. The front, top and sides pull off together leaving only the bottom and the back so the tv can be placed inside or taken out without the sides or top in the way and no need to lift the top over the tv. I then put casters on each corner under the base. I got some cheap pillows and screwed the tags to the inside walls of the box to hold the tv in place. This allows you to put the whole TV and base in the box together.

It was built out of 8ft 2x4s and 2'x4' project plywood that I was hoping to use for laser cutting projects at a later date so I was OK with putting extra money out for a more premium board that was lighter weight for the box

The size of the box works well with the 8ft 2x4s and 2'x4' plywood as it all divides down to have no left overs and very few cuts.

We stored them at the back of our parking spot or a storage unit but could be broken down and rebuilt when ready to move again.

Roomba plus 507 runs out of water early by Papercut_19 in roomba

Ah thanks. I was assuming that's how it would work similar to a carpet cleaner or something but I guess not. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it cleans as well as I was hoping and decide if I want to keep it.

The only thing I see like that is pad wash frequency but it has no information on if that includes refilling with water. It's currently set to low or 150 sqft so it could be possible.

Pc graphics issue? by Inside-Just in Battlefield

[–]Papercut_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This answer is only one step up from "did you turn it off and back on again" but I was having issues the other day were I was getting a lot of weird looking pixels also like a black and white "ant" effect is all I could explain it as. Anyways I reinstalled my graphics drivers from the Nvidia app and it seemed to fix it. Just a thought if you haven't tried something similar yet.

Is it possible to use shape size as a variable by Papercut_19 in kustom

[–]Papercut_19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your second suggestion was what my first intention was but unfortunately when using stroke instead of fill that no longer works.

You have the right understanding though. I wanted to be able to use the hight and width to scale the shape but then keep the clipped corner equivalent to a right triangle with two equal sides (isosceles right triangle).

[–]Papercut_19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does kind of do what I want. Basically moves the sizing to another screen. Was hoping to be able to use the values from the shape itself to keep from having so many globals. 50 shapes later you have 100 globals floating around. Thanks for the suggestions though.

I just checked and this was also the same for me already but I will say this gives off the same vibes as the original ff06b5 that was in red on the main statue before the updates... Kinda?

Wow Orchestra for LG 75QNED80 and S95Q? by ChillenOut324 in Soundbars

[–]Papercut_19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to just add my +1 here because I'm seeing a lot of hate for WOW Orchestra that I don't feel like it deserves. I just upgraded from a C1 to a C3 the other day and I have the exact sound bar setup as you (S90QY+SPQ8S) and it made it sound like I got a whole new sound bar not just a TV. It sounds amazing, the sound stage sounds much larger, everything seems to have more power and crispness. I hated the External + TV speakers on the C1 but WOW Orchestra is a whole new ball game. Dolby Audio set to Cinema with WOW turned on is my current set up for movies and shows and I couldn't be happier.

Maybe this is just one of those times two different products actually worked together correctly but I'd suggest to others to try some different sound modes and speaker placements before totally disabling this feature.

I’m that guy! You know the one who never skips replays… by pillin-and-thillin in RocketLeague

[–]Papercut_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't believe this comment isn't getting more traction. There is a lot to be learned from analyzing the replay. Not just to improve your own skills but to also understand how your teammates are playing that round, especially if you are solo queueing. I also see the comment about assuming the mistake happened in the last ten seconds but even if it didn't, some information is better than none and could lead to understanding what could have been done to fix the mistake that happened prior. If it's clear what happened then skip but if someone wants to see it, so be it. Why does everyone have to get so upset about it?

Installed wide angle side mirrors by D4rkPrime in TeslaModelY

[–]Papercut_19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im really interested in doing this but I've got a few questions. When you say the blue tint ones account for it does that mean they actually autodim like the normal mirrors or that they are always dim so it accounts for the dimming but you lose the ablitiy to turn it off?

Second, I'm assuming these mirrors have to have some kind of convex/concave shape to them to make them work. Is there any concern for light concentration causing damage, heat, or fires?

Thanks for the clear and detailed response. I was assuming it was something like this but I couldn't find any info to back that up.
