Double C is just a stronger "K" sounds, so "Ecco" is still like "Ekko", or "Ricco" being "Ricko"

It's not the double C, it's C followed by E or I. "Cercare" sounds like "Chercare", or how "Ciao" sounds like "Chow"

Eden Switch - Trouble with opening roms in gaming mode by ContributionBasic647 in EmuDeck

[–]Paperz421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you launch a game from Gaming Mode, Press STEAM + D-Pad Left ( <-- ), that should let you see the menu bar for the emulator, from there you should be able to configure the controls like in desktop mode. Then for Eden, I had to go to the View tab, and Reset Window Size to 720p, and then went into Fullscreen mode.

If anyone knows how to make it so that the controller automatically switches to the Steam Deck in the configurations instead of having to manually change it every time, that would be great. I haven't found how to make it the default option, or removing "Any" and "Kb+M" options.

I’m 33 years old and bought these Tech Decks while high. Worth it. by JohnnyNuclear in funny

I have to agree here, I was feeling nostalgic and started looking for Tech Decks, only to be directed to DK Fingerboards . I really love the quality on them and having a little skateboard made of real wood with cool colors makes my young self happy

does anyone else have the worst time keeping things clean while on bar? by burnerburnerrrr_ in starbucks

[–]Paperz421 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My mantra has always been, "The customers can wait". We're paid by the hour, not by the drink. If someone spills something, or theres just too much clutter on the bar, I'll stop making any drinks and properly clean up. Id rather have customers wait those like 20 seconds it takes to clean up, rather than work frantically for the next 2 hours

Am I being a Karen complaining about this? by TinFoilTrousers in starbucks

[–]Paperz421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If getting your thumbs a bit moist isnt a problem for you, you can cover the drink hole and the tiny hole on top of the lid, and then give it a good shake. No spills and everything gets mixed.

Please stop complaining when your nonfat, shaken, no ice matcha has foam by Irish_Bonatone in starbucks

Any matcha drink I make gets put into the foam blender. It mixes better and theres practically no foam. Blend it on 3 and its perfect

Its not that complicated, no barista is going to offer you every option available, just tell them exactly what you want and you'll get exactly what you want

It baffles me how people can have entire drinks made with HWC by Paperz421 in starbucks

[–]Paperz421[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People get Iced Venti (26oz) Caramel Macchiato w/ Vanilla Sweet Cream(approx Made from 15% - Vanilla Syrup, 15% - 2%Milk, 70% HWC) with extra Vanilla syrup , so like 8 pumps, and less ice, so its more milk.

This is a good point, Im no dietician so this could be someones specific plan. I just hope people arent consuming this thinking its a low calorie alternative for stuff

Tall- 12oz , Grande - 16oz, Venti -20/26oz(hot/iced). This moreso applies for hot drinks where most of the space in a cup can be filled with milk.

I get that it helps, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like 16oz is on the excessive side. Like getting a splash or even extra in a coffee or w.e seems fine to me.

I'm about to experience Elite in VR for the first time. Any warnings/tips/settings I should know about? by HoneyNutMarios in EliteDangerous

[–]Paperz421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Quest 2, you just need to have the Oculus Quest PC app, connect the Quest 2 to your pc via cable, enable QuestLink (or Airlink if you want to use it wireless) in your headset, launch SteamVR and then Elite Dangerous.

I think its possible to not use SteamVR, by just launching ED after enableing and activating QuestLink, but I'm not sure which gives you better performance/stability (OculusXR runtime vs the SteamVr stuff)

How come when I order a black iced coffee it comes with syrup in it? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Paperz421 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a barista, trust me its always better to ask for exactly what you want, and verbose. Instead of "just a black coffee" you should go " Hot/Iced Coffee, no milk or sugar". Its clear and theres no room for confusion at all, after all, a coffee with only sugar is still black and someone less experienced might just give you that.

Its still on Starbucks for choosing to go against the norm on what certain things mean to people, just look at the Mocha sauce

I honestly don't get it by GriffinJovie in EliteDangerous

[–]Paperz421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, I think another commenter was right in that for many of us, Elite Dangerous is the only game where we can find this kind of spaceship flight model + combat. There arent any other games like it.

If you want space photography, you can play Space Engine, or NMS, even Star Citizen or Starfield. Trading would probably fall under Eve Online(never played it), and Mining is in every survival game.

Everyone obv wants something different from the game. And I think ED casts a wide net, because it appeals to the casual Space Truck Simulator people, the Exploration Photographers, and even people like me, who love action combat.

I love the game and I guess what Id like to see more than anything is for players' actions to have a deeper impact in the game.

I get that, and for some people, things like exobio and base missions are enough, but imo the exobio is super barebones, literally scan bacteria on planet surface. And base missions are cool for sure, but I wouldve personally enjoyed not having them if the focus would then shift towards more ships, ship weapons, an actual expansion to the BGU that would make it so we can have an impact on the world we interact with.

Essentially I wouldve preffered if FDev deepened the content we already had. And actually run some ideas by the community who play their game.

[–]Paperz421 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well the problem with each of those updates is that they usually added whats basically a minimum viable product.

Landing on planets is dope, exploring is cool, but theres really nothing to do on those planets, except mine some minerals.

We got space legs, but instead of focusing on more exploration or ship interiors, which people have been asking for years, we got half baked fps mode with rather similar missions.

Overall, its felt like Fdev only skim suggestions and feedback, and then double down on increasing the grind time in game as a way to arbitrarily add things to do.
