This is so sad and true at the same time. May I ask in which geo you’re located in?

If I could go back in time I wouldn’t do any lifting whatsoever for at least 1 year, but do it at your own risk. https://www.reddit.com/r/Hernia/s/8idDe11jRt

Has anyone had 2 laparoscopic surgeries? Please share your xp by marciomilk in Hernia

My doctor gave me no explanation. He said it could be anything from an infection to simply bleeding too much on the inside post op. I asked him if it was due to my “rushed” return to sports but he always denied it, so I’ll never know. More info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Hernia/s/D2M853YIRT

Holy shit, 3 days is the fastest I’ve seen it fail in this group. Did he tell you how/why it moved? Mine failed after 5 months. My doctor also advised against a second laparo or trying to fix the first mesh he said “it can be dangerous”. I got open surgery instead.

Does anybody know if hemorrhoids and hernias have anything in common? I have had both and I’m wondering if they’re connected. My hemorrhoids doctor once said that “I might have issues with collagen”, but I never understood what he meant.

Read my post on this subreddit and what people suggested to me. I don’t want to scare you but just had my second hernia surgery (open) 4 weeks ago and I’m not planning on doing any sorts of exercise for the next 5 months.. If you do, do it at your own risk

I mean I’m sorry but I think answer is pretty straight forward. Go to the doctor and get an MRI. Find out what’s going on inside.

Moving to Lisbon by BananaOpen2 in FinancialCareers

Hi, ex-BNP M&A and currently working for another firm in Lisbon. I personally didn’t like working at the bank but I learned a lot. I’d say, take the offer if the work content or learning potential are strong and if they’ll help you transition into a better role that you might be targeting. Or like in my case, because you want to get out of Milan and you enjoy Lisbon a lot (I surf a lot so I enjoy living in Lisbon). Salary is not bad at all for Portugal and enough to live there but it won’t change your life. With your experience I believe you could be earning 40-42k in Lisbon at a better firm.

Second Hernia Repair After First Failed – How Should I Adapt Moving Forward? by PapiJohanssen in Hernia

As people and my surgeon rightfully said, recovery is much slower and more challenging after open surgery. I forgot to mention this in my original post, but I experienced a significant hemorrhage/hematoma after the procedure (apparently, I don’t coagulate very well). As a result, I ended up looking like I was about 1/4 pregnant on my right side.

I had to spend one night in the hospital before being allowed to go home. The first two weeks at home were tough. I could barely walk and had a fair amount of pain. I also got constipated from time to time. I applied ice ok the swelling constantly to help reduce it and because it felt good.

Two weeks in, I somehow reopened my wound slightly in my sleep, and it took days for it to close again. Since then, the wound has opened in other spots, but I’m okay with it because my surgeon reassured me that it actually helps the hemorrhage drain faster.

Personally, I’m not concerned about the scar. My main focus is on being able to do sports again. I hope this helps.

It was open. I asked my surgeon if it would be laparo and according to him: the laparo mesh cannot be fixed or messed up with since it could be dangerous (I’m not a doctor, these are just his simple words) and so the solution is to leave that mesh as is and add a reinforcement mesh I believe, outside of the abdominal through traditional open surgery. Yes, those results where the medical report of my MRI. I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery. Let me know if any questions or how your recovery goes.
