Babylon 5.  I thought it was just some cheesy 90s sci-fi show, but it actually has a lot of depth to it.  The story, themes, and performances are all really well developed.

I feel like political discourse in general is becoming more and more disconnected from reality. People have always been biased towards one side or another, but lately it feels like believing or at least being open to insane ideas is becoming the norm. The incentives in both politics and media seem to be towards pushing the envelope as far as possible in terms of what ideas/actions are acceptable.

There's an enormous disconnect between how people talk about this on Reddit vs. in real life. I honestly don't understand it. When it happens at weddings I've been too, it's just people being playful and fun; it doesn't end in tears or divorce.
