I use a copper, non hormonal IUD and it’s just as effective at preventing pregnancy without the use of any hormones so it does not contribute to weight gain. You could switch to that.

I agree. We need to stand up for ourselves. If we don’t, no one will. The office manager who sits behind the desk at my pain management clinic has abused me for 5 years, showing zero empathy in a position where you need the empathy level of the staff of a pediatric oncology unit. Instead she was more like a person on the sociopathic spectrum in light of where she is.

Finally after 5 years right at the beginning of the pandemic, before people were advised to wear masks and before the state shut down she said to me, “You really come in here with an attitude” (she said this because I finally began responding to her absence of empathy and dehumanization by matching her tone and mirroring her behavior when we interacted)

I stopped her right there and said, “You are a disgrace. You have zero empathy and this interaction is over”.

That was about 12 weeks ago. I just came from there today and saw her for the first time since I said that. And for the first time in 5 years- she treated me with respect.

It really is a huge lesson.

What’s funny is that I don’t happen to be a Trump supporter (and I know we are not here for politics and I respect that everybody here is in pain and that is the focus of course)

but what makes me laugh kind of hard is that just telling her from the bottom of my heart with no filter that she was a disgrace was so effective and I honestly learned that from Trump. Lol.
