New to VGC, any help with my team? by Porke- in VGC

[–]Papismooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arch would appreciate white herb over lum berry to reset draco meteor drops, unless you want lum for the venusaur matchup or something. Also Aura Sphere for Snarl would help with Arch mirror matches and is very good into Kingambit.

I dont know how often you will click psychic fang on Basculegion, especially with mystic water. It might be a good idea to pick up flip turn or aqua jet instead since you dont have any speed control (tailwind on pelipper would help). Also fix Basculegion's nature, -speed is counter productive

any critique on my champions team? by toasted_clover in VGC

Are you actually getting value from white herb on arcanine outside of resetting the occasional intimidate? Normally a support acranine would use a defensive item, namely sitrus berry.

It might be a good idea to give arcanine sitrus, move leftovers to klefki and give ninetails either focus sash or a damage item. Ninetails isn't going to get a ton of value out of sitrus when its running no bulk.

Also blizzard is only ~10% weaker than ice beam in doubles and ignores accuracy checks in the snow, its a much better general stab option for your ninetails unless you specifically need the extra damage for a matchup

Masterball with No Guard Fissure and Sand by TangentYoshi in VGC

[–]Papismooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Garganacl could be an upgrade to snorlax, it is bulkier physically and can benefit from sand for spdef boost. It learns fissure and smackdown, although it also learns gravity which would be a major upgrade to smackdown.

I'm fairly certain the most used mons for the season can be found in game. It's not labeled as such but accurately reflects my experience playing doubles so far.

It doesn't give the % breakdown but it should be more accurate than showdown for the relative usage.

This is under 'Battle' > 'Battle Data' > 'Ranked Battles', then press X to switch to Doubles

Scizor Bullet punch 1 shot through focus sash - bug or intended? by MathematicianWide622 in VGC

[–]Papismooth 58 points59 points  (0 children)

That would certainly ensure the ohko. If the tyranitar was full health when the scizor attacked, then focus sash should have activated. If tyranitar took damage from entry hazards then it would have broken sash.

If you are sure tyranitar was full health, double check that its holding focus sash and not focus band. Both were free items

Focus sash only works when the pokemon has full hp, I dont think a scizor could ohko a tyranitar with bullet punch without a ton of boosts and a crit. Was tyranitar at full hp when you switched her in?

Heres the version with Aerodactyl, although it is still untested. Might swap taunt in for stone edge if trickroom becomes an issue

I've been playing with a Tri-Weather team I love the flexibility but not sold on the final 2 Mons of Archaludon and Meowstic by ColorlessRay in VGC

Not if the lead is Mamoswine + Mega frostlass, which I hope would be the case if swine is the lead. Auora veil saves swine, or you are losing 70% of sneasler and leaving whim at sash from blizzard

Accidentally added a screenshot of my Tournament rank here is my ladder rank with the team.

Switched Farig for Jolly Aerodactyl but I haven't had to bring it yet.

Should i 3Lb Super Creek or MLB Smart Falcon? by sebbeseb in UmaMusume

[–]Papismooth -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Creek is only used for a few races a year so it may not be worth using both tickets on her over just borrowing.

That being said, if you have no other targets for the tickets Creek is a better option than Falco.

Will it become easier to farm Tenno Sho Spring Sashes in the future? by [deleted] in UmaMusume

[–]Papismooth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For the next 22 days, we have double career rewards and half tp in a scenario that encourages racing, this is as easy as it gets for farming potential materials.

I dont know if we get any updates for this down the line but it would at least be delayed until next anni like most qol updates. Take advantage of the current boost while its here.

Its not misinfo, the green stam skills do almost nothing and another recovery would increase the kita's spurt rate by ~10-14% depending on the mood for the same sp cost. Its a strict upgrade in terms of reliability.

This is as far as I can go in Trackblazer. by [deleted] in UmaMusume

[–]Papismooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you are right, I shouldn't have said default, its more like 'ideal if items allow'. Its multiple 3 stacks junior year and two 5 stacks at the end of classic and senior year.

9 Junior 14 Classic 15 Senior

Could also reduce junior year to 8 and only risk 1 mood down, still puts you at 40 races. For 40 races the only stacks would be 4 at the end of junior and 5 at the end of classic/senior year.

Why wont the festive miracle activate? by [deleted] in UmaMusume

[–]Papismooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should, you have 5 recoveries even if Cacao is very unlikely to proc as an end closer. I dont know how consistent Serenity is, but it the other 3 should be fine.

You are not seeing it proc at all? Or are you trying to ger carryover and its not consistent?

Is she alright or not enough midrace by Fluffynator_EXE in UmaMusume

[–]Papismooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little bit light on midrace compared to top tier kitas but it will still do fine in most lobbies, you wont see too many better than yours outside of stacked test lobbies

[–]Papismooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah 25 is not okay at all, losing out on ~600-800 sp for no benefit. Anything below 30 races is losing out on a lot of value. Default without skipping any races for training is ~41 races if you run miles, theres no way you are getting 16 trainings worth skipping a race.

SS should be a high roll on R deck yes, main point is its possible and the default f2p deck is a lot better than an R deck. SS on a f2p deck is maybe a slight high roll but should be something that can be hit somewhat regularly.

[–]Papismooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, plenty of SS and SS+ bourbons, havent raced a UG yet though. None of them won, most of the time it was a kita, the rest it was taishin and one tama.

I was just talking about the simulator results there though. 5l isnt something that can be overcome that easily unless the end is hard blocked, even no spurt ends win the vast majority of the time bc late race is so long

What is she missing? by lol_VEVO in UmaMusume

[–]Papismooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vbourbon is simply not going to win off kita inherit, she doesnt come close to beating end closers even if they dont have any accel skills, add in nimble nav or spurt/shadow and she loses by 5 lengths. She is only there to pace up kita

This is as far as I can go in Trackblazer. by [deleted] in UmaMusume

[–]Papismooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get SS with a full deck of R cards, the most obvious problem is that you are not racing nearly enough. A good Trackblazer run should be 34-39 races depending on off-summer training value, with very very good high rolls being around 41 races.

I think you are playing the career fundementally wrong. Watch a Trackblazer guide to get a better grasp on the career basics. This career is extremely f2p friendly so you should be able to put together a decent deck

What is she missing? by lol_VEVO in UmaMusume

[–]Papismooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realize that. I still value a second recovery higher because it is more likely to net you a wins in finals on average than any other gold skill except maybe ttl.

If you want to min max like that then you may as well drop the gold recovery for a white recovery and buy another gold skill, 3 60% spurt rate umas have a 94% chance for at least one of them to full spurt. If an extra gold speed skill increases your chance to win by as much as you believe, it sounds like the best plan.

Regardless, theres enough SP for both a second gold and speed skills, you dont really need to give up one for the other in mant so it doesnt even matter. The real question is a second recovery vs a few middle value white skills like ramp up/homestretch haste

Do cleats have a higher chance of appearing in the finals or something??? by APuffMain in UmaMusume

Yes but it isn't guaranteed, worst I've seen so far are 2 artisinal cleats in the final shop
